Honey Boy 2019
Amazon Prime was about to autoplay Beautiful Boy after this which emphasized to me how much more evocative this movie was than that one. Noah Jupe and Lucas Hedges are such good younger/older version casting. And their performances blend together very seamlessly. I enjoyed how the movie thoughtfully presented the motivations behind characters' actions, culminating in what feels to me like an authentic portrayal of a dysfunctional parent-child relationship. Shia LaBeouf is no paragon, but I think this is solid.
