Lord knows I’d never slander a coming of age movie set in a European seaside town

Movie had me smiling and teary-eyed the entire time and left me feeling introspective in the “what am I doing with my life I should drop everything and live a simple life in Italy”-type way. Joined the likes of Call me by your name and Luca in my holy trinity

I will admit that I was intimidated when I learned this was 3.5 hours. And while the runtime contributed to a heightened grandeur and scope that fit the movie, I still felt like there was a lot of unnecessarily drawn out scenes that made the movie drag a little.

Truly floored by how much I disliked this. No redeeming qualities whatsoever. God awful vibe, cringy 4th wall breaks, and chock full of Delaney Rowe dialogue somehow delivered with complete seriousness.

    Some of my personal highlights:

“Tara’s my favorite. She’s super hot.
And she’s an expert in demonology.”

    “I don’t even have my learner’s permit yet…How can I have a destiny?”

Just went to a Waffle House for the first time so of course I had to rewatch this.

I can’t even express how much I love this movie. I’ve seen it 10+ times (despite rarely rewatching movies!) and can basically recite the whole thing. I even wrote a college essay about it! And my trip to Waffle House was 100% just because of this movie.

From the minute the oogum boogum song started playing, I immediately started smiling and couldn’t stop. Arguably the best soundtrack ever. And definitely my favorite rom-com.
