A fantastic film. A beautiful film. A heartbreaking film. An important film. I've taken some time to log this one because I needed the time to sit with it. Everyone who loves cinema needs to see this film. It grips you from the opening moments, all the way to the 1000 -yard stare at the end.

From rags to riches to rags...
Kubrick + company created something truly beautiful here, with excellent (natural) lighting, camera placement and movement, and production design that served a story we have seen so many times but in a way so magnificent and full of grandeur. It was truly a pleasure to watch this film. Every frame truly IS a painting.
