  I've only seen one other movie by Kore-eda (shoplifters) and I enjoyed it very much.

  This just seem a bit too melodramatic and somewhat contrived for my liking. I really wasn't buying the premise at all.

  Also, considering the movie plot I was expecting a bit more urgency and tension but the whole thing moves at glacial speeds.

  People need to understand that this portrayal of Japanese culture is basically WW2 propaganda.

  Yes their customs were much more regimented but they were not some death obsessed killer robots lol.

  Show is alright but plods along too slowly and takes itself soooo seriously.
