Absolutely heart-wrenching. It'll deliver an emotional wallop to anyone, but if you've got kids it hits on a whole other level. The single-shot technique worked brilliantly and never felt like a gimmick. The acting is out of this world! As is the dialogue, cinematography, sound design... everything. The fact that I got a jump scare in the third episode, which was mostly two characters sitting in a room talking, highlights how tense the atmosphere can get.
It's a hard watch, but so essential!
I can't tell if I absolutely loved this film or utterly hated it. I really can't. It's one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. And I can't recall a film that ever made me feel this way. So for that reason, and the fact that it'll be haunting me for days, I'm giving it four fucking stars and can't wait to watch it again so I can hate it and love it all over again.

Despite its (many) flaws, for everything this film does wrong, it does a dozen things sooooo right. And it launched a horror franchise that features not a single bad movie or series! Five stars all day.
Way better than I expected! Hilariously funny from start to finish, over-the-top gory (to the point where you just have to laugh), mostly practical effects, and the band's performances ranged from pretty good to so-bad-it's-amazing. But the hammy acting added a lot to the film's charm.
The score was perfect. It had heaps of surprise cameos and will be rewatchable over and over again. It was just pure fun entertainment and the level of fun had in making it came…
