  choosing to avoid a traditional plot structure, opting instead for aimlessly wandering through xenia, ohio, exploring the most obscure and bizarre sections of humanity along the way. the underlying angst in these characters: they are born into a white-trash, poverty-ridden life, and they can't seem to escape it. korine's work is a manic depressive/transgressive freakout. look past the spaghetti in the tub. you'll find abrasive beauty, human beauty.
