  Pattinson is awesome and it’s fun to see a film go totally bonkers from time to time.

  But too bad the premise and its themes got thrown in the lava pit midway through for a completely different film that I am growing tired of seeing.

  The Lost Boys 1987

  My entire life I thought this was a different movie. I thought it was some deep dive into darkness, some cliche tragedy that traded on 80s goth that devolved down down down until our hero is consumed by the night. 

  Ho boy what a pleasant surprise!

  It’s wasn’t that at all! What schlock! What yummy schlock! It was so fun. Its dark and angsty tone is charmingly balanced against a goofy monster movie.
