Barbie 2023
Although I would agree it’s a fun summer movie with entertaining acting, I came out of the theater feeling like it lacked depth and originality. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t a fan of the writing and how it felt like I was being lectured more than giving the audience an artful insight. Jokes were fun most of the time, and the dance battles were entertaining, but I wish the writing hit harder emotionally when it came to more serious topics, rather than handing out check lists.
