  Massive achievement for China to produce a big budget sci-fi film, based on best selling book by a Chinese author.  That noted, there are no characters, clarity, stakes, or understanding of where we are in the story or world. And still, more than half of the film was strangely enjoyable...

  
  My favorite thing? While the western world thinks in centuries, China’s relentless march forward has been happening on the scale of millennia. That same massive scale is represented in every aspect of this movie.
