  as a fan of karaoke, i found this to be a bit long, a bit short on story, but ultimately delightful…i appreciate the narrative being reduced to a series of eclipsed glyphs, like joker 2 is something to be only ever partially envisioned as you lay dying, for a brief striated moment of circuitous consciousness, after a major accident involving a vehicle or a fall from a hotel balcony.

  was obsessed w the TV series as a tween but as objects d’art and moreover as totalizing paradigms for the male psyche they occupy two completely different lanes—the light and the dark.

  speedboat scene total liquid perfection made me tear up…if i guested at a theater maybe i’d run this back double feature sloppy style w the collin farrell sex tape

  revisiting this for the millionth time despite knowing it scene by scene bar for bar because...idk for me it’s like when brian eno talks abt how everything that’s wrong w a particular format or advance in tech is exactly what becomes its beloved signature once it can be avoided: CD distortion, tape fuzz, arnie’s transformation from garden variety broken glasses dork to scary incel james dean cosplayer in less than 15 min of screentime, etc.
