    While the OG has its moments, it still feels like a missed opportunity to truly explore all the juicy bits that the X-men had to offer in favor of a Matrix-styled, leather-clad crapshoot.

    Casting is spot on thankfully which makes this first X-men film still go down easy, but talk about character underdevelopment especially where Cyclops and Storm are concerned.

    Jackman’s still sharp enough to cut through the fat so to speak, but I specifically remember coming out of the theaters disappointed after seeing this in 8th grade and that feeling still hasn’t quite worn off in the 25 years since.

    While somehow a vast improvement over the fourth installment, Final Destination 5 still doesn’t quite live up to other entries in the franchise despite a few choice death scenes and a pretty stellar twist ending. Oh the acting in this one, though. It’s truly tumultuous.

    Bizarre as hell and yet still somehow one of Lanthimos’ most relatable and accessible films, Poor Things is a true wonder.

    Beautifully shot and acted with Emma Stone really channeling her inner Frankenstein Barbie as the initially naive and soon undeniably brilliant Bella Baxter, the narrative takes off to such delightfully cheeky, and at times, subhuman territories that I was completely enthralled for the duration.
