I think my rating is biased by how much I love the music it was about, but as a documentary I’d say it was definitely competent and well done!

Stray Dog 1949
I appreciated this movie most for its scale. It was a small story — focusing primarily on just a couple characters over the course of a few days, with a pretty straightforward plot — but had a large setting and a large cast of minor characters. It felt good!
Also interesting to see a lot of camera work and staging that felt very ahead of its time.
