this is what I imagine dating in med school will be like
very similar to soderbergh's no sudden move in theme/suspense/score but even tighter. smart, sleek, and tells a more robust story in 90 minutes than most films can in two hours. was not a fan of how a lot of the background lighting throughout was this mix of bright/fuzzy/washed-out
it sucks to have to grade MCU movies on a curve now, but that's where we're at. enjoyable in spite of the very rough third act CGI and the shoehorned/heavy-handed "cherry blossoms" motif. pretty good top gun dogfight. Mackie deserves the spotlight (and also a better movie). but with all the reshoot drama, I'm surprised at how successful the salvage job went.

Somebody has to be the captain. The consequences are heartbreaking, whether for our protagonists or Miguel or the captains themselves. For the protagonists, the captains are sacrifices, more additions to the large burden that the Spider-Society carries. For Miguel, someone who believes the canon is the only way, he sees himself as a captain of a different kind--martyring himself to drive the bus because if he won't, then who will? And how awful is it for the actual captains? Maybe…
