  After thinking about this thing, I have to lower my rating. It’s so bad. I mean, it’s one of those movies you can take drugs and watch for enjoyment kind of bad. There was SO much potential for this to be amazing and then it dawned on me—Chris Torres, the man who wrote Batman vs. Superman and Justice League also co-wrote this. I try to go into movies appreciating what the filmmaker’s vision is, but they failed at their own vision?

  Huge disappointment.

  Pokémon Detective Pikachu 2019

  I came into the theater full of kids expecting a lot. It didn't disappoint. The whole thing is a mess, but it somehow worked well?

  What I liked:
  1. The visual effects were fantastic--It can easily be at least nominated for Best Visual Effects.
  2. The story is unpredictable and has many great twist towards the end.
  3. Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu

  What I didn't like:
  1. TONE ISSUES
  2. Justice Smith
  3. Ken Watanabe was underutilized
