Mickey 17 brings a lot to the table with a premise that invites deep philosophical explorations of self-identity and the ethics of cloning all superimposed over a common theme in Bong Joon Ho’s films: the dehumanization of the working class. But as it piles on topics like religious extremism, xenophobia, and environmentalism, it starts to collapse under its own weight—leaving many ideas frustratingly underexplored.

The Majestic 2001
The Majestic feels earnest, so achingly saccharine, that it feels borderline inappropriate to harshly critique it. Imagine if the idyllic first half of Mulholland Drive were expanded into an entire film, played completely straight.

Adam Devine: Best Time of Our Lives 2019
Mostly stupid humor that occasionally draws laughs. This cemented the fact that Devine is more enjoyable in a movie/tv setting.
