First time seeing this as an adult and it is very different than I remember. Incredibly 2006, the style makes this more watchable than it would be otherwise and isn’t particularly good, but it’s stupid slow motion fun. Michael Fassbender, who I had no idea was even in this before, really pops.

Entertainingly satires NY art people (and juggalos), but doesn’t do much more than that. The unexpected joke at Baltimore’s expense got a good laugh out of me. Even though this isn’t that distant in the past, the fact that this 0 view band was found by this guy on YouTube in “related videos” seems like an impossible feat with the current clusterfuck the “algorithm” is and has me feeling nostalgic.

I don’t want to name names here, but I witnessed a host of the 70mm Podcast re-gift something I lovingly gave him as a prize in a trivia contest “from letterboxd”. From letterboxd my ass, that was from me. Never meet your heroes, kids.

    Movie was good though.

Not gonna beat around the bush, the CGI in this is pretty bad, especially after seeing Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes last week. Nothing feels real and a lot of the visuals just don’t have the weight to it that I wanted. Weirdly the politics of the Wasteland are my favorite part of this. Anya is alright, Hemsworth is fun, and I like the Jack character. It’s a bit overdramatic and I want to say pretentious, but it’s still a good enough time. Maybe we can get a prequel about Furiosa’s mom next.
