The first hour of the movie is some of the most tension I’ve felt in a theater in a while. Hugh Grant plays a fantastic villain and was an inspired casting choice. Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East do a great job themselves as the trapped sisters, and I thought the dynamic between all three was gripping.

Still, the anthology bounced between hilarity and horror throughout, and a wonderful ensemble cast helps bring the unconventional and twisted stories to life in a way that kept me constantly engrossed in the bizarre, unsettling worlds of the movie.

The movie was well acted, well shot, and I enjoyed it overall though I can’t help but feel it falls into the good not great category of horror flicks. A very well executed, but very familiar movie.
Aside from McAvoy’s great sociopathic performance, I thought Mackenzie Davis did a great job as Louise and led the way in making the main family dynamic feel very authentic which isn’t something you can say about every horror flick.
