  I suppose I don't have much to say about it that hasn't been said. For such a simple movie it's amazing that I never get too tired of rewatching it.

  In the Mouth of Madness is not the scariest film John Carpenter has made. It's not quite like The Thing or Prince of Darkness, which are perhaps ultimately more disturbing. It has a certain sense of uneasiness throughout it, though. Strange little details that are wrong here and there provide a genuinely creepy atmosphere in a way Carpenter has always been talented at.
