Morocco could have been a good film. It had the qualities and the spirit, but applied these in all the wrong ways. Connecting with the characters was nearly impossible; their motives and intentions were unclear from start to finish, their backstories nonexistent.
The main characters by themselves were likable enough, until they acted with complete disregard to reason -- for instance, Tom tells Amy he wants to desert and run away to Europe, and he invites Amy to come along.…
