Some places I'm a cat, others I'm a bee. Either way, I like classic American cartoons and Fujiko Fujio anime way too much.

Scaredy Cat 1948
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The Chuck Jones Porky/Sylvester cartoons where they're residing in a haunted house are some of my favorites, as they go to show how diverse both characters are. Here, Sylvester is a coward who tries to warn Porky of murderous mice living in a haunted house. The tonal whiplash is incredibly well-executed - the premise is ripe for horror, but Porky's obliviousness is hilarious.
(Why aren't there any lost episode creepypastas about these cartoons?!)

The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle 2000
Since live-action/animated adaptations of beloved cartoon characters don't always have the greatest reputation, my expectations for this movie were pretty low...and I think that's the best way to approach it. The movie manages to capture the spirit of the original television series pretty well, engaging in self-deprecating humor, bad puns, and social satire. The live-action actors for Boris and Natasha are also well-cast. However, my main gripe with the movie is it shoehorning a romance plot with the female lead…

May the 12th Be with You 2024
I genuinely feel bad for the folks who are enjoying the newer seasons of the actual Simpsons show. I can't imagine having a show you love finally break out of its slump, only for an awful Disney+ corporate synergy short to drop and have everyone and their mom talk about that instead.

Too Hop to Handle 1956
Surely, Sylvester eventually has to realize that the "giant mouse" he keeps fighting has to be a kangaroo.
