    Art direction was good and there were some fun fights scenes, but other than that this felt super weak to me. It just didn’t have the powerful emotions beats, well realized characters, or strong performances of the original film. Nothing was particularly bad but nothing was great either. I felt absolutely neutral the entire time, it’s the definition to me of a completely average movie.

    Absolutely beautifully made, hats off to everyone involved. I loved that they leaned into the goofiness of Count Orlock’s character in this portrayal without at all detracting from the horror, that’s a tough line to walk and I think Robert Eggers and Bill Skarsgård did it super well. I was cracking up during his first proper scene but that doesn’t mean I didn’t feel any tension, quite the contrary.
