  Clearing more movies off of my embarrassing watchlist to prepare for a future where I'm spending evenings with a girlfriend who I want to impress by not watching kids movies.

  I remember when this came out, people absolutely loved it. Like I remember people on twitter talking about it like it was the Citizen Kane of male stripper movies. I remember a guy in my film studies class saying this was his favourite movie of all time. And I don't think they were joking? The whole reason I even watched the first one is because of how much this movie was hyped up.

  This seems like a decent enough movie, but I wasn't a fan.

  To start with the positives, I liked the cinematography and the set design and all that fun stuff. It definitely feels like a cool space future. I liked Katherine Waterston and the character she played. I liked Michael Fassbender and thought he was pretty good, though not sure I understand all the praise that he gets for this performance.   I heard some stuff about this movie over the last couple of weeks, like how it's one of the most expensive movies ever made and it was flopping really bad. But... I never heard any hype leading up to this movie or really any advertising other than a few ads that I would skip before youtube videos. I kind of wanted to see what was going on and see if it was actually bad or just something fun to hate.…
