  Personally I hated it but it kind of reminded me a bit of Peter Jackson's 'Braindead' and I'm all for people trying weird things even if they're not successful in the end.

  I found it quite dark and cynical in a kind of ugly way, queasiness is a big motif, but at least it's consistent and has something coherent to say.
  The centrality of sexuality to subjectivity is earnestly asserted and reasserted with a Cronenbergian literalism.
  On the other hand, the politically feminist themes around the exploitation and emancipation of women (as subjects) are depicted with very dry irony, to the point of sardonic parody or pithy satire.
  I don't think they ever specify the biological sex of the fetus, which makes for a potentially interesting reading.
