An eerie, no-budget, made-for-tv hagsploitation flick minus the hag. Instead we have a 37-year-old Anthony Perkins riffing on his Psycho role as another tormented, mentally ill homebody who begins to experience extreme paranoia and delusions after his return home from a mental hospital. Psycho this is not, but the gloomy house, melodramatic score, and 73-minute running time make it feel like a better than average episode of Night Gallery.
Eerie, hypnotic and beautiful, this is easily one of the strangest made-for-TV movies ever created. Watch it if only for the unnerving dream/nightmare sequence after the opening credits. Stay awhile for Carl Weathers fighting a giant turtle in a crop top and speedo.
