Good flick. Had a semi-surprisingly fun time watching this one. With the sad passing of Hackman, heard this was one of his standout performances so wanted to flip it on. The main crux of watching him and denzel go back and forth was worth the watch. Denzel plays a little bit of a more subdued role than in subsequent works but he plays off Hackman nicely.
Always have a tough time with military content - feels like it’s a culture…
First 30 min I thought, “Man, this is really gonna be a drag.” But by the end I warmed up to the slower pace and put it squarely in the “ok” 3 star camp. Definitely not a must watch but decent enough if you’re looking for a well done period piece with some strong monologues and inspiring moments, although you’ll have to get through some rather dull scenes along the way.
I gotta say this is the worst movie I’ve turned on in a while sorry guys who made it im sure you’re good people just didn’t work for me
