  this is a movie that has no idea what kind of movie it wants to be or what kind of story it's trying to tell, but regardless it is heavy-handed the whole way through. painfully long & difficult to sit through, but not because it's challenging you or disturbing you in the ways that it thinks that it is - just because it's kind of boring. the hair & makeup design are fabulous and it functions okay as a period piece, but…
