I felt pretty disappointed that they didn't add certain scenes from the book which i felt were pretty important, like the ones during training with sergeant Himmelstoss, or when Paul comes home during leave to visit his dying mother, but even so it still manages to be a bleak, depressing and gut-wrenching portrayal of WW1 from start to finish.
