Sažetak Opis građe koju svrstavamo u sitni tisak nije uključen u postojeće norme za opis knjižnične građe. Budući da je riječ o građi koja je po svojoj namjeni, načinu proi-zvodnje i raspačavanja, formatu, opsegu, grafičkom oblikovanju i oblikovanju poda-taka različita od uobičajene knjižnične građe koja je proizvod profesionalne naklad-ničke djelatnosti, s njom se postupa na specifičan način. Združivanjem više fizički i nakladnički nepovezanih jedinica građe, prema nekom zajedničkom elementu (tema, porijeklo), u jedan bibliografski zapis, građu kojoj nedostaju bibliografski podaci za pojedinačan opis moguće je opisati jednim zbirnim opisom koji objedinjuje sve jedi-nice unutar jedne takve umjetno stvorene zbirke. Katalogizacija na razini zbirnog opi-sa razlikuje se od knjižnice do knjižnice – u ovom je radu detaljno prikazana praksa katalogizacije u Nacionalnoj i sveučilišnoj knjižnici u Zagrebu. Viele Dissertationen in der Archäologie enthalten am Ende der Arbeit einen Katalog, in dem die untersuchten Daten in einem bestimmten System aufgeschlüsselt präsentiert werden. In diesem Beitrag wird eine effiziente Gestaltung eines Kataloges und dessen Einbindung in den Fließtext vorgestellt.

This is the text of a presentation delivered at the New Challenges, New Ideas and New Requirements Conference held in Baku, Azerbaijan September 28-30, 2017. In it, I explore British Library efforts to account for early 20th century Azeri-language publications in a manner that is reflects the needs of computer-based cataloguing as well as the diverse expectations of a global readership.

U radu se prikazuju svojstva i vrste digitalnih reprodukcija i definiraju problemi izrade bibliografskog opisa. Radi usporedbe s modelom opisa faksimilnih pretisaka i mikrografskih reprodukcija analizirana su hrvatska kataložna pravila i propisi ISBD(ER)-a, ISBD(G)-a, ISBD(M)-a i ISBD(NBM)-a te utvrđeni elementi opisa i prikladna polja formata UNIMARC. Prikazan je model opisa digitalnih reprodukcija u Pilot-projektu digitalizacije građe Nacionalne i sveučilišne knjižnice u Zagrebu.
The article presents the characteristics and types of digital reproductions, defining the problems of creating bibliographic descriptions. For the purposes of comparison with the description model for facsimiles and micrographic reproductions, the article offers an analysis of Croatian cataloguing rules and stipulations for the ISBD(ER), ISBD(G), ISBD(M) and ISBD(NBM), listing the elements of description and the matching fields for the UNIMARC format. The article also presents the model of digital reproduction desriptions as applied in the Pilot-Project of Resource Digitization of the National and University Library in Zagreb.

The eremitical rule of the Carthusian Order, which was founded by Bruno of Cologne in 1084, is reflected on the architectural system and on the structures of Carthusian monasteries. The cell, placed around the cloister, allows the monk to contemplate the divine in solitude and silence, by alternating and associating the private dimension of the hermitage to the community and coenobitic one of the monastery.
The aim of the research, which included the use of digital technology to document the state of conservation of the Florence Charterhouse monk’s cells, is the definition of a diagnostic framework and an abacus of constructive and decorative elements of the complex, which is functional to the understanding of these places. The cells, located in the north-east and south-east sides of the main cloister, have been carefully documented through laser scanning and photogrammetric survey campaigns, close range and at high altitude, flanked by the census work. For each cell, 2D and 3D drawings have been realized, generating an inedited documental system, through which it is possible to explore the important architectonic complex. One of the goals of the research is to provide, through a digital multidimensional and implementable in time database, a valid support for the comparison between the Florence Charterhouse implantation and other Italian Carthusian monasteries, including the Pavia Charterhouse.

This paper presents the results of fieldwork conducted in 2011 in the Chod-sko region, located in West Bohemia, Czech Republic. The fieldwork was aimed at documenting the traditional legends of the Chodsko region and cataloguing them based on the folkloristic index created by Jan Luffer (2014). Fieldwork done on the knowledge of local storytellers of traditional demonological legends was also conducted. The characteristics and classification of chosen legends of the Chodsko region according to Luffer's index of demonological legends is also presented and divided into seven categories. The list of legends is obviously not complete, and for the purpose of cataloguing only a few well-known legends were selected. As regards methodology, semi-structured interviews were carried out with local inhabitants while other legends were taken from literature.

Non perdere di vista gli scopi che l’indicizzazione per soggetto nei cataloghi di biblioteca dovrebbe perseguire e insieme tenere un occhio attento sulle caratteristiche effettive che hanno oggi i cataloghi potrebbe servire ad affrontare meglio le questioni concrete della pratica di indicizzazione e del miglioramento delle interfacce degli Opac, oggi molto rudimentali e poco efficaci. Ma il presupposto perché l’indicizzazione per soggetto d’ambito bibliotecario possa avere un futuro è che le biblioteche considerino quest’attività come rilevante e qualificante.

The article examines the fundamental principles of Resource Description and Access (RDA), the new guidelines for the description and the discovery of different kinds of resources aimed to replace the AACR2 since 2013. RDA is included in RDA Toolkit – a web site and a database containing tools and resources useful for the RDA application – which is here described in its contents and structure. The sections (attributes, relationships and appendices) are analysed in some points also through schematic tables translated in Italian. The paper examines the rules' structure and focuses on the use of numbered and unnumbered headings in RDA and in AACR former texts. RDA is analyzed as an entity/relationship data model and as a working tool for librarians too.

Abstract (ENG):
On November 14th and 15th 2017, at the Stabat Mater room of Archiginnasio Public Library of Bologna, the conference "Il libro antico. Limiti e prospettive dei censimenti", coordinated by Regione Emilia-Romagna-Istituto per i beni artistici, culturali e naturali (IBC), took place. On the first day there has been two sessions: one morning session titled "I fondi librari antichi: un patrimonio da conoscere, promuovere, valorizzare, tutelare" ; and one afternoon session titled "Catalogare per conoscere, promuovere, valorizzare, tutelare: le banche-dati". The second and last day has introduced a session titled: "Catalogazione e digitalizzazione: situazione presente e prospettive future". This conference represents a great opportunity to reflect on a still open way about early printed book. A lot of proposed speeches have often reminded that forty years passed since the introduction of automation in libraries related to early printed book; a setting which deserves to be studied and discovered again, above all in the light of the latest innovations and the evolutionary process of information technology and Web. Although information technology has made remarkable progresses on creation of ad hoc software environment, as well as in the definition of "open" and flexible metalanguages to create metadata and codify in a digital way hierarchically ordered and organized text contents, there is still much to do, especially for early printed books, with the specific goal to simplify and increase the census of item data and the connection between these data (which they often elude the strict mechanism of databases and/or forms of census) and digital copies on the Web.


Abstract (ITA):
Nelle giornate del 14 e 15 novembre 2017, presso la Sala Stabat Mater della Biblioteca comunale dell’Archiginnasio di Bologna, si è celebrato il convegno dal titolo “Il libro antico. Limiti e prospettive dei censimenti”, organizzato dalla Regione Emilia-Romagna - Istituto per i beni artistici, culturali e naturali (IBC).
L’evento, dalla tematica assai vasta e di sicuro interesse grazie alla qualità degli interventi proposti e dei relatori intervenuti dall’Italia e dall’estero, ha riscontrato una grande affluenza da parte della comunità dei bibliotecari e degli studiosi, che hanno partecipato molto numerosi.
Per la giornata d’avvio il programma ha proposto due sedute: una seduta antimeridiana dal titolo: I fondi librari antichi: un patrimonio da conoscere, promuovere, valorizzare, tutelare; e una seduta pomeridiana dal titolo: Catalogare per conoscere, promuovere, valorizzare, tutelare: le banche-dati. La seconda e ultima giornata del convegno ha proposto una seduta dal titolo: Catalogazione e digitalizzazione: situazione presente e prospettive future.
Questo convegno non deve essere inteso come un’occasione celebrativa posta a chiusura di un programma di attività: esso rappresenta, invece, una preziosa opportunità di riflessione su un percorso a tutt’oggi aperto e incentrato sul libro antico. Molti degli interventi proposti, infatti, hanno spesso richiamato alla memoria dei presenti come siano trascorsi ben quarant’anni dall’introduzione della tematica dell’automazione in biblioteca e relativa al libro antico; uno scenario che merita di essere analizzato e riscoperto, soprattutto alla luce delle recenti innovazioni e dei processi evolutivi della tecnologia informatica e del Web.
Per quanto l’Informatica abbia fatto notevolissimi passi avanti nella creazione di ambienti software ad hoc, così come nella definizione di metalinguaggi “aperti” e flessibili per la metadatazione e la codifica digitale di contenuti testuali e gerarchicamente ordinati e strutturati, c’è ancora molto da fare, specialmente quando l’oggetto di studio sono i libri antichi, con l’obiettivo specifico di facilitare e potenziare il censimento dei dati d’esemplare e il collegamento di tali dati (che spessissimo sfuggono alle logiche stringenti dei campi a selezione fissa delle banche-dati e/o delle schede dei censimenti) alle copie digitali che popolano il Web.

Introduction. The IFLA functional requirements for bibliographic records model has had a major impact on cataloguing principles and practices over the past fifteen years. This paper evaluates the model in the light of changes in the wider information environment (especially to information resources and retrieval) and in information seeking behaviour online, rather than in terms of library catalogues per se.
Approach. Using a critical analytic approach, it reviews a range of literature across library and information science, and analyses the implications of the changing information environment and information behaviour on usefulness of the model.
Conclusion. The paper argues that although the functional requirements for bibliographic records model may be useful in terms of thinking about the bibliographic universe as constituted when the model was first developed, there have been major changes in the form, format, nature, publishing, and relationships of information resources, along with significant developments in users’ information seeking behaviour, understanding and expectations. The model may no longer be sufficient as a theoretical and conceptual basis for cataloguing rules and hence for library catalogues, nor for understanding the bibliographic universe.

Quali sono le metodologie che portano alla costituzione di un archivio fotografico? L’autrice cerca di rispondere partendo dall’analisi fisica fino ad arrivare alle ricerche più recenti, che in campo italiano stanno portando alla creazione della scheda FF, all’utilizzo di software di archiviazione e catalogazione gratuiti, e in campo internazionale alla creazione di una rete di conoscenze basate sulla creazione di metadati. L’analisi è supportata dallo studio della composizione dell’Archivio fotografico Vittorio Emanuele presente all’interno della Biblioteca nazionale centrale di Roma, scelto perché presenta validi spunti di ricerca metodologici, il quale è stato confrontato con l’Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa, di cui sono state prese in considerazione la capacità e la modalità di centralizzare e conservare la produzione fotografica dispersa negli edifici dell’Archivio della città, e con la University of St Andrews Library Photographic Collection, che ospita una delle più grandi e importanti collezioni di fotografia storica della Scozia. Il tutto supportato da un’analisi storica che da Baumann e il suo Liquid Modernity, Deridda e il Mal d’archive agli Archival turn eredi del postmodernismo e della decostruzione porterà alla nuova scienza archivistica della visual culture.
Chiara Micol Schiona è docente presso l'Università di Bologna per il corso di Teorie e metodi degli archivi per la moda. Specializzata in Storia della Fotografia, è oggi archivista, bibliotecaria, pubblicista, curatrice di mostre. Ha partecipato a numerosi programmi di ricerca nazionali e internazionali. È stata assegnista di ricerca per l'Istituto centrale per il catalogo e Documentazione di Roma ed è referee di riviste internazionali e italiane nel settore dell'archivistica, moda e fotografia.

Problematiche lessicografiche e storico-linguistiche emerse nella seconda metà degli anni Settanta del Novecento a proposito della catalogazione dei beni storici e artistici. Aspetti di ricerca ancora oggi in attesa di espansione e approfondimenti.

T his article is on “non-paper” literature, taking as its focus a set of po- ems written on banqueting trenchers. Its intention is to literalise con- siderations of “the material text” by exploring poems on “things”: “things,” moreover, that are place- and occasion-specific, and that therefore have a quite different relationship to their readers and owners from that of books. A second, linked, aim is to examine why such literature is barely studied, and how we might think of printed text differently if we con- sidered “non-paper” writing more. Investigating the way books are cat- alogued as codexes, indexed by content and placed in libraries, while “things” are catalogued as objects, indexed by type, and placed in muse- ums, it asks how much writing is unknown, effectively “lost,” because of where it is housed.

En esta investigación nos encargamos de catalogar un conjunto de obras venezolanas, producidas durante la época colonial (1492 – 1810) que actualmente se encuentran en el convento de la Inmaculada Concepción de Garachico, Tenerife. Para ello explicamos los orígenes del arte colonial venezolano, así como mencionamos a los artistas, técnicas y materiales más importantes, tanto del campo de la pintura como de la escultura.
De igual modo, indagamos sobre las razones del traslado de las piezas, estudiando así los conflictos dados entre el Estado venezolano y la Iglesia católica, haciendo énfasis en la exclaustración de religiosas durante el primer gobierno de Antonio Guzmán Blanco (1870 - 1877). Por otra parte, hacemos un análisis a las piezas seleccionadas a través de los dos primeros niveles del método iconográfico-iconológico planteado por Erwin Panofsky. Además tomamos en cuenta los marcos originales, de las obras que los conservan, para así establecer relaciones entre ellas.
Mediante esta investigación pudimos establecer que efectivamente existió un intercambio cultural entre Venezuela y las Islas Canarias, tanto en la época colonial como en tiempos posteriores, lo cual permitió el traslado del grupo de piezas aquí estudiadas y logramos determinar las razones por las que el Convento de la Inmaculada Concepción de Garachico fue el destino elegido.
Por otra parte, la comparación de las obras estudiadas con otras producidas en la misma época permitieron la atribución de algunas de ellas a ciertos talleres de importancia, como el de Juan Pedro López o el de los Landaeta, lo que confirma el origen venezolano de la selección e indudablemente permite el conocimiento de obras coloniales poco estudiadas en nuestro país.

This short article introduces current developments in Augmented Reality (AR) use within libraries to Library Cataloguers. It provides an overview of AR and reviews some of its recent applications within libraries before making suggestions how cataloguers and the metadata they create is a crucial component in the advancement of the AR Library concept.

The art of riding is a fugitive art, which signifies that the means available for documentation of performances are insufficient, and that the equipment used by the old masters are important clues for the understanding of their art. The most specialized tool used for riding is the bit, in particular the curb. As museum catalogues become accessible to the public through the internet, riders will look for information about bits. It is then important that the information provided in the catalogues is valid not just for the curator, archaeologist or art historian, but also for the rider.In this paper, I add context to the bits by explaining two opposing philosophies of bitting, and how they affect the design of the bits. This is followed by a brief history of the art of riding and how the bits have evolved since the 16’th century. I then proceed to describe the function of the bit, and suggest a terminology in Swedish to use when describing bits in museum catalogues. The paper ends with some reflections on writing catalogue texts and photographing bits.

Il volume si propone di fornire un quadro complessivo delle Regole italiane di catalogazione – REICAT, elaborate dalla Commissione permanente per la revisione delle regole italiane di catalogazione, pubblicate nella versione a stampa nel 2009. Partendo da una breve introduzione sulla nascita dei codici nazionali catalografici, lo standard internazionale ISBD, i formati di scambio MARC e la Dichiarazione di principi di catalogazione internazionali, si arriva a delineare i presupposti e il contesto in cui le Regole sono state concepite. Vengono, quindi, illustrati la struttura e i contenuti del codice mettendone in luce le principali caratteristiche e gli elementi di novità nei confronti non solo delle precedenti norme catalografiche italiane (Regole italiane di catalogazione per autori), ma anche di una serie di usi e consuetudini, interni o meno all’ambiente del Servizio bibliotecario nazionale, consolidatisi nell’arco del trentennio che è intercorso tra la pubblicazione dei due testi. La parte finale del lavoro è dedicata allo stretto rapporto esistente tra le Regole e il modello sviluppato nei Functional requirements for bibliographic records. A chiudere il volume, un accenno alle nuove Resource description and access (RDA), uno dei fenomeni che meritano certamente attenzione, per portata e dimensione, al di fuori dell’area angloamericana, dinanzi al quale non bisogna però cadere in facili, quanto sterili, operazioni di (false) contrapposizioni rispetto alle norme italiane.

L’articolo cerca di mettere in evidenza le potenzialità e i limiti di ricerca del Catalogo del Servizio Bibliotecario Nazionale recuperando da una parte le funzioni del catalogo individuate da Cutter (ricerca per autore, titolo e soggetto) e confrontandole con il modello concettuale FRBR e RDA. L’attenzione si concentra in particolare sulle funzioni descrittive della catalogazione e quelle indicali proprie della bibliografia cercando di delimitarne compiti e limiti.
