Reports on research undertaken because the Malaysian delegation to an ASEAN‐COCI seminar felt there was a need to understand what is meant by “Quality” from the librarian’s perspective. A survey was undertaken to obtain feedback from librarians. Questionnaires were sent to all (10) university librarians, all (13) state public libraries and six selected special libraries. The response rate was 100 per cent from university libraries, 77 per cent from public libraries and 100 per cent from special libraries. An analysis of the responses provided insights into what quality means to librarians, the policy infrastructure available, the obstacles faced by librarians in the implementation of quality measures and the strategies they employ to ensure quality services. It also provided an insight into their future plans.

The purpose of the case study is to share the experience in responding to the COVID-19 for information delivery by the Learning Resource Centre (LRC), Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM), Hyderabad. The case study illustrates the unexplored challenges faced by the LRC VJIM during COVID-19 and the actions taken by using innovative technologies. Data were collected regarding the use of e-resources with the help of statistics available in the dashboard of Remote Xs and analyses have been made accordingly. Furthermore, the case study revealed the extensive use of digital services and e-resources provided by the LRC, VJIM in pre pandemic and at the time of pandemic. The findings of the case study will lead to help the academic libraries to meet the user expectations in getting the required information and roles and responsibilities of library professionals during the new normal for the information delivery.

PurposeThis paper endeavours to provide answers to the following questions: Is there a correlation between what library customers value and the questions asked in benchmarking satisfaction surveys? Is there a core set of academic library customer values? Are there differences between what academic library customers value in Australia when compared to their counterparts in England? Do library customer values change over time?Design/methodology/approachThe results of two similar university libraries' customer value discovery research are compared with each other, and also with the question set in the LibQUAL+™ survey. Introduction:  This paper will present a study that explores the way in which librarians in Turkey use their knowledge and evidence upon which to base their decision making.
Method: One method is to carry out a questionnaire of literature on the subject. The other method is to use analytical data by interviewing library managers.
Analysis: The problem of the lack of recognition of the Evidence-Based Library Management (EBLM) concept in Turkey can result particularly in Library managers making uninformed decisions based on on-trend practices.
Results:. This study has found that managers and executives of Turkish libraries have inadequate knowledge of the EBLM concept. Library managers need to consider and plan for practical steps that could be taken to introduce the concept of evidence based practice in their decision-making process. 
Conclusion: Library managers will have to be able to learn to change from a culture of institution-based decision making to an evidence-based decision making process based on analytics and concrete results.

Over the years, most of the information generated, knowledge created and intellectual capital of institutions are now in digital form. Due to this fact, libraries need to find innovative ways to preserve this knowledge for the current and future generation of users. Within this framework, the term digital curation (DC) is increasingly being used as new trend for the libraries to give value addition to their users in maintaining these digital assets. The creation, organisation, access and use of such digital assets are of increasing importance for a wide range of activities.

The term digital curation was first used in 2001 as a title for a seminar on digital archives, libraries and Science in which various communities came together to discuss the urgent challenges of improving the long-term management of, and preservation of access to, digital information. Digital curation is the selection, preservation, maintenance, collection and archiving of digital assets. It establishes, maintains and adds value to repositories of digital data for present and future use. This is often accomplished by archivists, librarians, scientists, historians, and scholars. Digital curation tools can be used for long term preservation of content and help to reduce the digital obsolescence. With the proper use of social technologies, organization can yield productivity and collaborate effectively among user communities. Its applications among library or KM communities can benefit the organization to a large extent. They can surely change the culture of knowledge sharing among the communities of similar interests. This article delineates the benefits of collaboration between the concepts of Social Networking using various social media technologies in particular to digital curation. Finally, it narrates the new trends and challenges that library professionals should cope-up.

This paper discussed the changing expectations and approach in ict environment of library users of engineering and technology institutes affiliated to University of Delhi and GGSIP University Delhi. It analyzes the motive of users visit to library, views of library users about the library facilities and services. It depicts the statistics of IT equipments and resources available with the library. It evaluated the usage of library resources, preference and satisfaction level of the users, discussed the reflections of trends in library growth and development and assessed the future plans for library to keep in mind the users changing demands in ICT environment, e.g., development of information resources and IT infrastructure, etc.

Academic libraries are facing times of unprecedented challenge and unparalleled change. Innovation has moved from a consideration to a necessity. And yet, academic libraries continue to operate in a climate of declining budgets and increasing costs. In such a resource-scarce environment, academic library leaders are under pressure to make wise decisions in regards to how innovations are adopted and implemented in their libraries. To help inform these decisions and to highlight areas of future research, this study reviews the literature on academic libraries and innovation. The information presented will assist library leaders in making decisions that affect innovation and it will highlight areas for further research. While there has been an uptick in the number of high quality studies on this topic since 2010, significant research remains to be done if the literature is going to help chart the direction for innovation in academic libraries.

Publishers attract readers to books and inform them about the books’ contents by adding information to the books’ covers. In many academic libraries, the dust jackets of cloth-bound books are discarded. This study was a physical inventory of 1,319 recently published books in an academic library, and comparison of circulation statistics between different cover types. By every measure, books with publisher-supplied information on the cover circulated at a higher rate than books
with plain covers. The implications of our findings for collection management are discussed.

Library is building to collect various written and recorded information from various types such as books, journals, theses, dissertations, magazines, newspapers, maps, and others. Libraries have many types, one of them is the school library. The school library is located in the school environment and its management is based on each school concerned. The school library is the main source of knowledge and learning information for students and educational staff and educators. In the school library, of course, there is a separate management, especially during a pandemic like now, every school must start rethinking the right policies in helping the process of preventing and transmitting the corona virus in the library when the library operates starting from managing the organizational structure objectives to be achieved, policies implemented, procurement, preservation, and management of collections, facilities, and infrastructure.

The strategic management and library strategic management in particular are presented. The process approach to strategic management is discovered.

The managing and arranging of books in a library manually is a difficult task. In this paper the application of Robots in Library Management System is presented and technique for implementing the same is proposed. In this method, a robot will be designed that will work on path orientation strategy. The rack number will be given as input to the robot, this input will be searched and matched to the code. If the match is found, then the robot will move towards the corresponding rack. The sole purpose of the robot is to make transfer of the books from one location to another. The proposed technique is applied to the college library.

The purpose of this study was to appraise the prevailing status of customer relationship management (CRM) practices in university libraries of Pakistan to increase strong and mutual beneficial relationship with user. Moreover, correlates of CRM practices with types, categories, and geographical locations of university libraries were also explored. This study adopted cross-sectional survey research design using a questionnaire. The survey questionnaire was emailed to the in-charge/head librarians of all 193 university libraries in Pakistan and response rate was 74%. The results were consolidated at the analysis stage. The results have demonstrated that current status of CRM practices (customer focus, organizational focus, customer feedback management) is in the adolescence phase, while information technology infrastructure is inadequate for absolute implantation of CRM programmes and strategies. The data indicate that CRM practices are linked with university libraries types and geographical locations private sector university libraries are concentrating more on organizational focus as compared to public sector while university libraries of Islamabad Capital Territory are having good IT Infrastructure from KPK Province and AJK region respectively. The study suggests that all academic institutions should formulate a clearly specified user care and satisfaction policy. In Pakistan, Information Management / Library & Information Sciences schools and library associations should conduct ongoing training, workshops, seminars, and conferences on CRM strategies, practices, programs, tactics and mechanism, defined in this study. University top management must encourage, provide financial resources and train staff for smooth running and implementation of CRM. Complete IT infrastructure, CRM software and models should be adopted as per market demand. CRM models may be developed for Pakistani university libraries or such models may be opted with some amendments from other pure business CRM models.

This paper discusses the application of humanistic management theories in the effective administration of public university libraries in Nigeria. The purpose of this paper is to see how humanistic management theories can be applied to the effective administration of the public university libraries in Nigeria. Library serves as a solid foundation that bears all the academic structures (programmes) in the university system. It supports all the curricula as well as teaching and research of the university system. Hence, the paper proceeds along the following spectrum: concept of management as regards to its objectives, functions, goals, and essentiality will be briefly discussed; it goes further to briefly discuss effective administration of university library; then proceeds to highlight various management theories as regards to their strength and weaknesses; each humanistic theory in relation to the effective administration of university library was broadly discussed. In conclusion, the paper postulates some number of factors as the way forward to some problems that would affect the effective application of humanistic management theories in the Nigerian public university libraries.

Kütüphane binası da insanlığın bilgi gereksinimini karşılayacak kaynaklara ve kültürel gelişime katkı sağlayacak etkinliklere mekân oluşturmak için tasarlanır ve üretilir. Aynı zamanda kütüphane binası, aynı anda çok sayıda kişinin bir arada bulunduğu bir kamusal alandır. Hangi sebeple olursa olsun binada bulunan herkes, binanın kullanıcısı olarak kabul edilir. Kullanıcılar binada bulundukları süreler açısından değerlendirildiğinde ise, sürekli ve geçici kullanıcılar olarak iki grupta incelenebilir. Kütüphane binası, işte bu kullanıcıların gereksinimlerini karşılamak üzere tasarlanır, üretilir ve kullanılır.
Bina kullanıcılarını, kullanıcılar da binayı etkiler. Kütüphane binasının tasarımı sırasında kullanıcı gereksinimlerinin doğru belirlenmemesinin üretim aşamasına da yansıması, binanın kullanımı sürecinde kullanıcılar üzerinde memnuniyetsizlik yaratır. Konuya ilişkin yapılan bazı bilimsel araştırmalarda binanın mekânsal özellikleri ile kullanım sıklığı arasında yakın bir ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır. Binadan kaynaklanan sorunlar nedeniyle gereksinimleri karşılanamayan kullanıcılarda sağlık sorunları görülebilmekte, buna bağlı olarak kütüphanede kalma süreleri kısalmaktadır. Bu durum binanın kullanım verimliliğini düşürmektedir. Özellikle de binada bulunma zorunluluğu olan kütüphane çalışanları için sağlık sorunlarının görülme oranı daha fazla olmaktadır. Sonuç
olarak kullanıcı konforunun sağlanamaması, memnuniyetsizlik nedenidir (Küçükcan, 2007; Hazal ve Emsen, 2020). Bu nedenle bilgiyi yöneten kütüphaneciler ve dermenin kullanıcıları için daha iyi bir kütüphane binası nasıl tasarlanabilir düşüncesi, bu çalışmanın çıkış noktası olmuştur.
Mimari tasarım çok önemlidir. Tasarım evresindeki eksiklik ve hataların daha sonra giderilmesinin çok zor ve maliyetli oluşu nedeni ile bu çalışma daha çok bu evreye odaklanmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı hem bilgi ve belge bilimciler, hem de kütüphane binası tasarımı ile ilgilenen mimarlar üzerinde kütüphane binasının tasarım özellikleri ile ilgili bir farkındalık oluşturmak ve kullanıcı beklentilerinin neler olabileceğinin daha iyi anlaşılmasının sağlanmasına dikkatlerini çekmektir. Bunun için de farklı formatlardaki bilgi taşıyıcılarını toplayan, düzenleyen ve gereksinim duyan kullanıcılara ulaştıran, yani bilgiyi yöneten kütüphanelerin konuşlandığı mekânların nasıl olması gerektiği üzerinde durulmuş ve sonuç kısmında bugün olduğu gibi gelecekte de kullanıcılarının gereksinimlerini karşılayabilecek binalar için bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
Surely, every building has a production purpose. Also the library building is designed and constructed to create a space for resources that will meet the knowledge needs of humanity and activities that will contribute to their cultural development. However, the library building is a public space where many numbers of people are together at the same time. Anyone who is in the building, regardless
of the reason for being there, is considered to be the user of the building. When the users are evaluated in terms of the time they have been in the building, they can be examined in two groups as permanent and temporary users. The library building is designed, constructed and used to meet the needs of these users.
Building affects users and users affect the building. The failure to determine the user requirements correctly during the design process of the library building is reflected in the production phase and creates dissatisfaction on the users during the use of the building. In some scientific studies on the subject, it has been determined that there is a close relationship between the spatial characteristics of the building and the frequency of use. Due to problems caused by the building, users whose requirements are not met may experience health problems, and consequently, their time in the library is shortened. This is situation reduces the utilization efficiency of the building. The incidence of health problems is higher, especially for library staff who have to be in the building (Küçükcan, 2007 ; Hazal ve Emsen, 2020). Consequentially, the inability to provide user comfort is a cause of dissatisfaction. Therefore, the idea of how to design a better library building for librarians and collection users who manage knowledge has been the starting point of this study.
Architectural design is momentous. Because it is very difficult and costly to correct the deficiencies and errors in the design phase later, this study mostly focuses on this phase. The aim of this study is to raise awareness of both information and documentation scientists and architects interested in library building design, about the design features of the library building and to draw their attention to a better understanding of what the user expectations may be. For this purpose, it is emphasized how the spaces should be for libraries that collect, organize and deliver information carriers in different formats to the users who need them, in other words, libraries that manage information. Furthermore in the conclusion part, some suggestions are made for buildings that can meet the needs of their users in the future.

Este trabajo tiene por objetivo presentar una metodología de preparación ante siniestros en bibliotecas para subsanar las deficiencias detectadas, diseñar un protocolo de actuación ante emergencias y exponer unas nociones básicas de salvamento y recuperación del material dañado. Las pautas que se proponen son de aplicación a cualquier tipo de colecciones; sin embargo el rescate y la recuperación de fondos se ceñirá, casi exclusivamente, a los impresos por constituir el grueso de las colecciones bibliotecarias, dejando para estudios posteriores los métodos de manipulación, transporte y tratamiento de otros soportes documentales.

There is no agreed usage for the terms collection development and collection management - in fact the two are used as rather loose synonyms. However, reflection would demonstrate that they do imply different concepts and some distinction is a necessary preamble to any discussion. Collection development relates to the selection and acquisition of material for an expanding collection and decisions on the material to be included in that collection. Collection management may subsume this, but also includes the allocation of the bookfund and the balance between books, journals and conservation; the disposition of stock between open and closed access, between different media and between branches of the library and stores; and, finally, the monitoring and encouragement of collection use. In sum, collection management also includes issues concerned with conservation and disposal, and is aimed more at the presentation of the collection to the user than at the collection itself. It should be clear from this wide definition of collection management that a variety of types of staff will be involved in different ways and at different times. As with all library activities there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to manage the activity. The library must decide the importance it attaches to the management of its collections and then deploy staff and other resources in the light of local needs and opportunities.

This study examined the problems militating against the effective management and utilization of serials holdings in Federal College of Education Yola, Central Library. Effective management and utilization of serials form an integral part of the entire college library. Survey research design were used where Questionnaire, interview, observation and documentary sources were used for data collection. Research findings shows that Lack of serials librarian, inadequate funds to subscribe to both international and local journals as well as complete lack of e-journals/Resources. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is inadequate especially Internet facilities is not available. The researchers recommend among others that the Library should subscribe to electronic journals at international and local levels as well as need for immediate provision for ICT facilities to alleviate the problems facing the Library.

The study investigated the influence of job characteristics on job burnout among librarians in university libraries in Nigeria. The study employed survey research design. The population of the study consisted of 624 librarians from 38 public universities in Southern Nigeria. Total enumeration was used. A validated questionnaire was used to collect data. The Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficients for the constructs ranged from 0.72 to 0.95. The response rate was 80.4%. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential (simple and multiple regression) statistics. The findings revealed that Job characteristics significantly influenced job burnout of librarians in university libraries in Nigeria (β = .126, t(498) = 2.838, R 2 = .016, p < .05). There was a low level of job burnout among librarians (M = 2.20, SD = 1.33 on a scale of six). The librarians had much understanding of their job characteristics (M = 2.50, SD = 0.61 on a scale of three). The study concluded that job characteristics contribute to low level of job burnout among librarians in universities in Nigeria. The study recommended that library authorities should train librarians on job characteristics and on maintaining good work environment to prevent job burnout.

The focus of this paper is to review previous works on library supply chain model towards recommendations for a framework on how to construct a library supply chain model. Thus, the aspects that relate to the objective of how to model the library supply chain were reviewed. These include all the important literature to support the required information for the library supply chain model such as the members/entities of a library supply chain model, the structural dimensions of a library chain network, and the different types of process links across a library supply chain. Finally, we also described several specific studies involving specific entities inside the library supply chain. This study aims to do critical review of library’s management and library supply chain. This study also highlights the functions and components that needs to enhance the library supply chain management.  Finally, we analysis the library supply chain models to do excellent library management facility.

Untuk mejnadi perpustakaan yang benar benar perpustakaan maka, perpustakaan memerlukan koleksi yang lengkap. melihat masalah itu, kami mencoba melakukan analisis mengenai perkembangan koleksi yang ada di erpustakaan SMA N 1 Rncakalong Sumedang. Dalam kegiatan ini kami mencoba menganalisis apakah koleksi yang ada di Perpustakaan sudah memenuhi kebutuhan nformasi pemustakanya, yang tidak lain dan tidak bukan adalah siswa, guru, dan semua individu yang termasuk kedalam civitas akademika SMA N 1 Rancakalong Sumedang.

Inventarisasi adalah suatu kegatan pencatatan pendaftaran barang-barang milik kantor, (sekolah, rumah tangga, perpustakaan) yang dipakai dalam melaksanakan tugas; atau kegiatan pencatatan atau pengumpulan data atau barang barang sekarang sedang diadakan. kegiatan inventarisasi ini tidak hanya dilakukan di kantor atau di lembaga saja, tetapi kegiatan inventarisasi ini juga dilakukan di perpustakaan. kegiatan inventarisasi yang dilakukan di perpustakan merupakan kegiatan pencatatan koleksi, baik itu koleksi dalam bentuk buku ataupun dalam bentuk majalah.

Penulis menyebutkan bahwa buku melahirkan peradaban yang sekarang ini sedang dijalani karena Tanpa adanya buku, manusia-manusia tidak akan berkembang. Tidak langsung membahas pengertian perpustakaan digital, namun lebih menekankan pada teknologi dan komputer.Perpustakaan digital masih melanjutkan tradisi kepustakawanan. Perpustakaan digital tidak secara keseluruhan ‘merebut’ pekerjaan pustakawan, namun perpustakaan digital diciptakan untuk mempermudah pustakawan, pemustaka, dan bahan pustaka dalam mencari dan mengolah informasi.

The aim of the study was to study the effectiveness of e-learning program among students in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Negeri Sembilan, Rembau Campus. For the scope, 30 students were chosen from three different faculties which were Faculty of Business Management, Faculty of Information Management and Faculty of Communication and Media Studies. It was found that most of the students agree that e-learning was an effective methodology compared to traditional methodologies. In addition, the two trends of using e-learning with the highest number of students were from the categories of sometimes and often. Lastly, majority of the students chose benefits for synchronized meetings as the benefit of using e-learning. Furthermore, result of the study was applied in percentage and frequency form. Thus, the result from questionnaire has proven that most of the students agreed that e-learning was effective and gaining the benefit as well as it was part of learning tool in university.

Faculty of Information Management, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) has enlisted the subject Industrial Training (IMC 690) in its course outline which will provide pre-professional work experience to all the students taking the subject. The subject requires the students to undergo the training at selected organization and the industrial training period is five months. Students are required to choose any organization for their industrial training placement whether it is paid or unpaid. During the industrial training, students are encouraged to contribute to the organization by joining activities and carry out the responsibilities given to them professionally. Industrial training is relevant since the students are able to show their skills and prepare for the real working environment in the near future.

Information professionals are increasingly required to renew their skills and practice in order to sustain the user's interest in the changing academic scenario. Need has arose to adopt Change Management in library with appropriate managerial intervention. The present paper is a case study of IMS library and its attempt in embracing change management in librarianship for progress and development of its services, functions and facilities.

Anger is an emotion characterized by antagonism toward someone or something you feel has deliberately done you wrong. Anger can be a good thing. It can give you a way to express negative feelings or motivate you to find solutions to problems. However, excessive anger can cause problems. Increased blood pressure and other physical changes associated with anger make it difficult to think straight and harm your physical and mental health (Kazdin, 2000). Like any emotion, it is turning over a message, telling you that a circumstance is upsetting, unjust, or threatening. If your kneejerk reaction to anger is to explode, however, that message never has a chance to be conveyed. Therefore, while it is perfectly normal to feel angry when you have been mistreated or wronged, anger becomes a problem when you express it in a way that harms yourself or others. If you have a hot temper, you may feel like it is out of your hands and there is little you can. Workplace anger is not only potentially harmful to the organization, but it can also cause serious Psyco-Socio problems, including chronic anxiety, depression, high blood pressure and heart disease. Confusion in role-play in Teaching-Learning process. The increasing rate of workplace violence, job Dissatisfaction poses a challenge to library managing professionals to find effective ways of preventing, diffusing and managing anger at work. The rising level of anger and frustration among workers can be attributed to a number of factors that include the prevalence of downsizing, reform and re-engineering; the impersonal aspects of organizational structure that give rise to dominant supervisors and alienate employees; an organizational culture that is suppressive and promotes fear; negative performance feedback that makes employees apprehensive, defensive and fearful; employees' personal problems; and employees' substance abuse. Libraries can minimize the risk of workplace violence by carefully conducting pre-employment screening, implementing a clear policy regarding threats and related actions, and terminating problem employees in a sensitive manner.

Quality Improvement without Best Practices and Accreditation cannot be possible in
today’s Academic Realm, according to the writer. Best practices are identified by examining

Libraries to improve the quality of services and professionalism.

in the Sanskar Sarjan Education Society’s D. T. S. S. College of Commerce and P. D. T. Junior
College of Commerce and Science, Malad. It also analyze the Best Practices with their Goal of
the Practice, The Process, Impact of the Practice, Resources required, and Remarks.
In conclusion the paper strongly opines that “the Best Practices should not only fulfill
the need of information of the students, but also include the services and activities in which
the aim of overall development of the students is achieved.”

Industrial training is very important for students because with the experience of this training, students can train themselves and feel the real atmosphere of working environment. In addition, students can also apply the modules learned in practicing in the field of work practically and based on knowledge and experience. This report explains what industrial trainee did during five months industrial training at University Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) library. This library is one of the public educational institutions that functions to acquire, collect and process science-sophisticated formats in various formats systematically to be easily referred to by their users. It is also an information center for students University Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). This report consist in detail the background of (UniSZA) library, visions and missions, organizational charts, departmental chart, departmental functions, experiences that have been gain in this library, problems faced during this training and suggestions for improvement, and various of activities that have been done throughout the training period in this library. It is hope that all the information in this report able to described and give an overview of industrial trainee experience of undergoing industrial training in the library. Hopefully this experience will give industrial trainee a great chance for learning, guidance and strength in dealing with all of the problems in the future.
