The issues of illegal immigration are not new to the global community; indeed one might argue that is the reason for the existence of countries such as New Zealand, Australia and many others born of the British Empire. Now, with the continuing mobility of global crime and terrorism, the issues of illegal immigration and, in particular, mass arrivals have become a topic of great importance. As other nations tighten down on such issues, New Zealand is becoming a potentially viable destination despite its isolation geographically. Through the examination of Australia and Canada, countries both geographically similar and with generally similar outlooks to such issues as immigration, the measured approach made by New Zealand can be bench-marked. Whilst being fortunate to have not had to face a mass arrival already, New Zealand now has suitable legislation in place to aid in deterring and dealing with eventual arrivals having taken the best of each nation’s experiences. The delicate balancing of the needs for maritime security while still meeting international obligations as a ‘good citizen’ of the global community are always open to opinion, although seemingly, New Zealand has hit the right balance and has obtained a good foundation to meet a rising threat.

The solar photovoltaics (PV) industry would not exist without government policies. Governments around the world have implemented  policies to support consumption  of solar energy and production of solar PV products. These policies have  varied  across countries  and  across time, thus contributing  to
regulatory uncertainty. This  article addresses two related questions. First, how does regulatory  uncertainty  in the solar PV industry shape  firms’ market and non-market strategies? Second, how might firms’ responses to this public-policy environment affect technolog- ical development and the locus of manufacturing? Government policies on solar PV, and firms’ strategies to over-come regulatory uncertainty, may have unintended consequences. Firms’ decisions on location and
technology development  may result in loss of employment  and national competitiveness for developed countries; and firms’ market strategies may increase regulatory uncertainty if they do

Airbnb’s remarkable growth is applauded, but there is certainly room for expansion in the Korean market. In this study, the authors conducted a background analysis of Airbnb, studying the strengths and weaknesses of the firm and devising strategies for further success in Korea.
In regards to price, the authors decided the price strategy currently held is applicable in Korea as well. There is no need for change in that aspect. The authors did observe the need for a premium service centered on business travelers, those who travel most frequently. The premium service would have an annual fee, but it would provide benefits to customers in the form of additional services and exclusive deals.
Brand awareness is relatively low in South Korea. To inform the Korean audience, who are potential guests and hosts, there is the need to adopt widely used Korea online platforms, including Kakaotalk and Naver. Not only does this widen Airbnb’s footing in the market, but it also establishes new ground for which promotions can take place.

Objective: This paper examines the preconditions for setting up an experimentation system for continuous customer experiments. It describes the RIGHT model for Continuous Experimentation (Rapid Iterative value creation Gained through High-frequency Testing), illustrating the building blocks required for such a system. Method: An initial model for continuous experimentation is analytically derived from prior work. The model is matched against empirical case study findings from two startup companies and further developed. Results: Building blocks for a continuous experimentation system and infrastructure are presented. Crafts such as jewelry and silver design have been drawn attention as the sectors that have been identified as precious and developing components of art and craft via combining creativity and manual labor. It has been seen that there are a limited number of studies examining the mediating role of job crafting between job performance and level of work engagement of crafters who shape the work's extent, content and structure by their own ways, and execute a job that requires handicraft and craftsmanship, based on skilled labor. The questionnaire has been applied to 129 crafters within the purpose of contributing practices for the sector and scientific studies in the related field. As a result of the analysis, it has been identified that the dimensions of work engagement and job crafting have a significant effect on job performance and job crafting has a mediating role between work engagement and job performance.

Але не варто забувати, що всі нові дослідження були результатом натхнення працями попередників, які потрібно проаналізувати в історичній послідовності для того, щоб виявити закономірності у твердженнях, трактуваннях та застосуваннях стратегій сучасної організації. Автором проаналізовано розвиток підходів до трактування стратегії та запропоновано класифікацію підходів щодо визначення змісту стратегії. У роботі представлено трактування стратегії коопетиції як нового парадоксального погляду на стратегічне управління.
Развитие концепций стратегического менеджмента, которое началось в 50 гг. ХХ столетия и продолжается до сих пор, преподносит новые открытия в области конкурентных стратегий. Каждый исследователь в области стратегического управления абсолютизирует свой подход, и если проанализировать публикации за последние два десятилетия, то часто они схожи между собой в использовании слов «новый подход» или «новая парадигма». Но не стоит забывать, что все эти новые исследования были результатом вдохновения работами предшественников, которые нужно проанализировать в исторической последовательности для того, чтобы выявить закономерности в утверждениях, трактовке и использовании стратегий современной организации. Автором проанализированы подходы к трактовке стратегии и предложена классификация подходов по определению содержания стратегии. В работе представлена трактовка стратегии коопетиции как нового парадоксального взгляда на стратегическое управление.
The strategic management concepts development had started in 50-ties of XX century and still brings new discoveries in the field of competitive strategies. Every strategy specialist absolutizes his or her own approach in the field of strategic management. Many recent publications have a lot in common in using “new approach” or “new paradigm” expressions. But we should remember that new approaches are built as a result of inspiration by the previous researchers. These approaches must be analysed in a historical order to reveal patterns in the statements, interpretation and using of strategy at modern organization. Author analysed the approaches to interpretation of strategy, the classification of the approaches to identify strategy was offered. In the paper the coopetition strategy as new paradoxical view on the strategic management was presented.

This article reviews new literature on the development of China's private sector. Since this sector's development is embedded in and characterised by a wider institutional environment, several general characteristics of China's capitalist transformation are discussed. Insights drawn from political science help in the understanding of the strategy of "wearing a red hat" and the emergence of China's private sector. The closely interwoven relationships between private companies and the Party-state that have taken place since the 1990s are also examined. The review indicates that focusing on state/capital relationships at different administrational levels contributes to a better understanding of China's private sector. The main conclusion is that although the development of the new private enterprises enabled the ruling elite to form and consolidate a hegemonic project that provided relative societal coherence, the project's continuity is threatened by a tendency for crises to occur.

Discusses the advantages and disadvantages of a diversified portfolio of CSR projects to increase engagement vis-a-vis a more focused approach that might achieve the critical mass to secure a more significant impact. As an illustration of the latter approach the case is put for a commitment to the elimination of leprosy.

Purpose -The purpose of this paper is to identify the conceptual underpinnings of the theoretical weaknesses of extant research investigating the HRM-Organizational Performance Link (hereafter HRM-P Link). Design/methodology/approach -The paper reviews a number of different empirical approaches to the HRM-P Link and reflects upon, and defines, theory, focusing upon two important dimensions: prediction and explanation. The paper also discusses why the field in its current guise cannot sustain a commitment to explanation, so that under-theorisation and lack of explanatory power go hand-in-hand. It then tackles the possibility that theoretical underpinnings for empirical research on the HRM-P Link might come from other disciplines such as economics. The paper also begins to set out a meta-theoretical alternative. Findings -The paper finds that: theoretical underpinnings will not emerge and develop simply by doing more, and/or better, empirical work; meta-theoretical problems besetting the paradigm are actually far worse than is usually recognised; and attempts to borrow theories from other disciplines have not been successful.

El objetivo de todo negocio es la creación de valor, entendida como la generación de productos y servicios que valgan más que su costo. En un mundo cada vez más impredecible son muchos los factores que afectan el desempeño de las empresas y su interacción hace casi imposible predecir los escenarios futuros, por lo tanto, los modelos estratégicos diseñados para entornos estables, donde se supone se puede pronosticar, tener visión de futuro e implementar los planes a placer, tienen poca utilidad.

Al mantener un alto nivel de diversidad étnica las universidades se ven beneficiadas por muchos aspectos los cuales van desde lo económico hasta crecimiento como institución, y es que por medio a esta diversidad tendrán un amplio catálogo de nuevos que piensan de forma diferentes, los cuales pueden aportar ideas y obtener un mayor resultado final en lo que se proponga la institución. 2-¿Cuáles son algunos de los problemas que podrían enfrentar las universidades altamente diversas? Las diversidades étnicas muchas veces traen problemas consigo debido a las diferentes creencias y principios, estas siempre terminan segmentadas culturalmente y solo se ayudan entre estudiantes de un mismo origen. 3-¿Qué tipos de enfoques de administración de la diversidad se utilizan en Amherst University y West Point? Una se encarga de reclutar a los estudiantes de bajos recursos por medio de programas y becas y la otra queda a manos del gobierno que es quien se encarga del pago de los estudios de aquellos estudiantes que no están capacitados financieramente para afrontar los gastos que conllevan sus estudios. 4-¿Por qué la diversidad en colegios y universidades tienen tal impacto significativo en la diversidad en el gobierno, las empresas, y todos los demás sectores de la sociedad? Por la poca costumbre que tenemos y nuestra forma de pensar la cual solo mira para discriminar a los demás y no para amarlo por lo que realmente son. Todos somos seres humanos y estamos para amarnos con los demás sin importar diferencias étnicas. 5-En su opinión, ¿Cuáles son los principales obstáculos para mejorar la diversidad étnica y económica en los campus universitarios de República Dominicana? Actualmente muchos dominicanos tienen Xenofobia con los nacionales de nuestro país vecinos por lo que es bastante común su discriminación aquí. Entiendo que el principal obstáculo somos nosotros los Dominicanos con nuestra forma de pensar. Debemos ver en ellos que son personas independientemente de su cultura, religión o raza. 6-¿Cómo cree usted que estos obstáculos se pueden superar? Aprendiendo a ver las cosas de forma diferente y entender que al final todos somos iguales porque todos somos seres humanos sin importar de donde vinimos o cuales son nuestras creencias, al final si vemos las cosas desde esa perspectiva las cosas pueden cambiar y los obstáculos se pueden superar.
