INTRODUCTION

Work immersion refers to the part of the SHS Curriculum consisting of 80 hours of hands-on
experience or work simulation which the Grade 12 students will undergo to expose them to the
actual workplace setting to enrich the compentencies provided by the school under the
supervision of the Principal and the designated personnel of the partner. This said immersion is
done outside the school premises depending on the student's selected strand/course. This
activity will help them familiarize themselves to their target job's or on how theif course should
supposed to look in the actual field.

At the end of our immersion, we are tasked to do this narrative report to hel us reflect on what
we have learned throughout our experience and this report will help us to determine if we still
think that this is the appropraite course/strand for our personality and capability. The process
of making narrative report in our experience is in need to be done for our own need. This is
required to be done by every student that undergoes to work immersion and will be checked by
their class adviser for approval.

BACKGROUND OF PCG

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is an armed and uniform service tasked primarily with
enforcing laws within Philippine waters, conducting maritime security operations, safeguarding
life and property at sea, and prorecting marine environment and resources; similar to coast
guards around the world. The Coast Guard also serves as an attached service of the Armed
Forces of the Philippines in wartime.
MISSION

We are a uniform armed service that implements and enforces all national and international
maritime safely, security, search and rescue, and marine environmental protection laws in
support of the integrated maritime transportation network objectives, national security and
economic development of the philippines.

VISION

"By 2028, PCG is a world class guardian of the sea committed to save lives, ensure safe
maritime transport, cleaner seas, and secure maritime jurisdiction

3-4 What I have learned from the experience(technical)

I've learned a lot from our two weeks work immersion. The experience that I've encountered
during our stay at the agency of Philippine Coast Guard was very challenging and fulfilling. We
started the immersion from introducing ourselves and because of that I learned that we
shouldn't judge the physical appearance of a person. They've let us experienced the basic up to
the actual work of being a coast guard like a knot tying, assembling and disassembling of rifle
M16, proper swimming, rescuing, plotting the direction of the ship and most importantly,
disciplining ourselves.

5-6 My experience with the people around me

At first I was nervous but excited before the work immersion starts. I keep on asking myself on
how I could be able to mingle with the other because I was the only girl to the group but on the
first day I was surprised that my co-immersion and coast guard instructors were so easy and fun
to be with. There's no dull and ackward moment whenever I'm with them as I didn't want to
end the work immersion. I felt like we were family because we have each other in every
obstacles and challenges.

7-8 The most memorable event during my immersion

The most memorable event during the my immersion was when they let us enter the pilot
house of the ship and to shake the hand of the captain. I was so happy that I have experienced
it all even I'm just an intern. It's my dream to become the captain of the ship.
9 What I can recommend for the improvement of the Immersion Program

I can recommend for the improvement of the Immersion Program is to never stop this program
and keep on improving it.

10 My advice to those who will take their immersion in the future

My advice to those who will take their immersion in the future is to take it seriously and focus
because it will help them to gain more knowledge and on their future profession.
