OCTOBER 12, 2021 (Tuesday) WHAT I HAVE LEARNED p. 69

Answer the following questions:

1. Based on what you have learned from the previous activities, how would you
define speech context in your own words?

• For me personally, I would define speech context as characterized as the

situation of the communication or conversation's environment. I further
contend that the context conceptualization I favor allows us to characterize
speech acts as context-altering social actions.

2. As a senior high school student, what do you think is the advantage of having
good communication skills in a variety of contexts? Do you think it will help you
improve your personality? Why or Why not?
• Yes, it improves my ability to communicate effectively with others. Because,
listening attentively and accurately enhances not only individuality but also
my mentality.

3. Do you agree with this statement: Speech context can influence one’s behavior?
Why/Why not?

• Yes, since it allows many individuals to communicate with one another on a

daily basis, and it can also improve our mood by bringing up a particular
issue.

4. Which of the types of speech context do you find easy and difficult to practice?
What should you do to improve your skills?

• Intrapersonal communication is the easiest for me, while public

communication is the most challenging. I believe I should work on my
speaking voice and gain more knowledge about public speaking in order to
become appealing and credible as a public speaker, and you will be able to
inspire and even entertain the audience; besides, I do not think I could be
able to take the pressure, and public speaking and stages in front of large
crowds intimidate me.
