-2.2 to participate in everyday conversations about familiar topics
AIMS
By the end of the lesson the ss will be able to:
-to identify the prepositions of place;
-to use the main words and structures learnt so far(the rooms of the house, household items);
-to develop their English language through dialogues, conversation.

TEACHING TECHNIQUES: conversation, explanation, observation, dialogue, evaluation.


SKILLS: reading, writing, speaking, listening
INTERACTION: T – S; S-T; pair work.
MATERIALS: handouts, flashcards, video, song, laptop, video projector, whiteboard.
ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS: If students do not understand the oral commands or the tasks,
they will be translated into Romanian.
Warm Up
Procedure: T. greets the pupils and asks about their mood.T. checks the missing students

Activity 1: Lead-in
Procedure: The teacher tells the pupils that they will revise the prepositions of place and the
vocabulary related to the house.
The teacher asks the pupils to remember the prepositions of place by listening to ,,In, On,
Under Song” and identify the prepositions of place in the song.

Activity 2: Presentation&Practice
Procedure: The teacher asks the pupils to watch a presentation of the rooms of house.
The pupils have to say the rooms they have seen.

The teacher displays several flashcards one at a time and asks the pupils to identify the house
items. If they don’t, the teacher tells them what it is and have them repeat.
Then the teacher splits the whiteboard into four sections (as the rooms of the house), tags the
rooms and asks students where the house items should be placed. The students pin the flashcard
in the right room.

Activity 3: Practice

Procedure: The teacher will read a text with the title“The room”.In that text are used a lot of
prepositions of place.Ss. listen to the teacher while she is reading the text and have to draw what
they listen.
Students show their drawings and check with the teacher if they have obtained the correct
picture. (handout 1)

Activity 4: Practice
Procedure: The teacher asks Ss. to work in pairs. Ss. ask about their partner’s house. Then, they
report back to the class.
e.g. S1: What is there in your bedroom?
S2: (There’s) a bed….
S1: This is ……..’s bedroom. There is a bed, a desk, a bookcase on the wall,…etc..

The teacher makes error corrections and helps Ss. , where necessary.

Activity 5: Production
Procedure: The teacher asks Ss. to open their tablets and to connect on joinmyquizz.com.They
will receive a code in order to solve a quiz. Ss will review the vocabulary (prepositions of place).
