Contemporary Music - refers to compositions that have adopted ideas and elements from
20th century art music in the west, as well as the latest trends and musical styles in the
entertainment industry.
Kundiman – is a genre of traditional Filipino love songs.
Jazz – a type of music of African American origin characterized
by improvisation, syncopation, and usually a regular or forceful rhythm, emerging at the
beginning of the 20th century.
Chromaticism – a compositional technique interspersing the primary diatonic pitches and
chords with other pitches of the chromatic scale.
Liturgical – music written for performance in a religious rite of worship.
Photography - means 'drawing with light', which derives from the Greek photo, meaning
light and graph, meaning to draw. It is the process of recording an image – a photograph –
on light sensitive film or, in the case of digital photography, via a digital electronic or
magnetic memory.
Movie - a series of moving pictures, usually shown in a movie theater or on television and
often telling a story
Animation – a filmmaking technique by which still images are manipulated to create
moving images.
Industrial Design - a process of design applied to physical products that are to be
manufactured by mass production.
Hip-hop – a range of street dance styles primarily performed to hip hop music or that have
evolved as part of hip hop culture.
Breakdancing - an energetic style of dance typically performed to hip-hop music,
characterized by stylized footwork and acrobatic or athletic movements. It originated
among African American and Latino people in New York City during the 1970s.
Renewable energy – energy from a sustainable source like geothermal, water, solar, and
wind.
Non-renewable energy – energy from source that is not sustainable as it takes billions of
years to form; e.g. fossil fuels like oil, coal, and natural gas
