Tiktok dog trainers are convincing people that playing fetch with their dog is bad. Meanwhile most dogs are understimulated and under exercised in my opinion so let's just take away the one decent excercise dogs get because tiktok dog trainers said it will make them too athletic 🙄

I don't use tiktok but here is 1 example of this shit that's being parroted around

I've recently started lurking on r/service dogs and the shit people have talked about seeing on tiktok and youtube about training is insane. Like, legit advocating people teach their SDs to sit/down/stay and walk away IN A STORE for extended periods of time so as not to make service workers uncomfortable when they help you. (i mean, i get trying to make an SD as inconspicuous as possible and be as courteous as possible to service workers but i'm not leaving her 3 aisles over and out of my sight just so they aren't uncomfortable)

Fetch is one of the easiest ways for a person, especially one with mobility issues, to help their dog get extra energy out! You just throw as far as you can and let them run. As long as its in an enclosed area like a fenced park or they have a super long leash, its the best thing for your dog. It also reinforces a number of very good training tasks like focus and recall.

Please please please DO play fetch with your dog!

first they made it mandatory to log in everywhere. create an account to download your free template Log in to access resource give us your email nowwwww. Now the humble password is being killed too. open your magic email link! type your 6 digit code that we texted you because we required your email and your phone number! we’re gonna call you and whisper a code sweetly in your ear so you can log in to your account. yes it has a password but you cant use that anymore. okay? poob is gonna call you. now poob is just gonna call you.

The worst part is you don't even need to forget your password for something like that to happen. Last year I lost access to a bunch of stuff I had in my old email account (from back when I still used hotmail) because it was still linked to my old phone number, and one day it randomly detected that I was trying to log in from a different computer than usual (even tho it was literally the same computer) and wanted me to verify my identity using my phone. And the only way to recover your account if you no longer have access to the phone number linked to it is by filling a form which asks you information such as the subject line of the most recent emails you sent using that account (who the hell remembers that lmao), and every time I've tried to fill it it tells me the information I provided is not enough to verify my identity.

Like again it pisses me off because the issue wasn't even forgetting my password. I still have my fucking password, it was just that one day it randomly decided I was trying to log in from a different location and the only way it'll let me log in after that is using my phone number.

If I ever have to deal with that, I might kill someone.
