Camp Lo Mia '11

 A few weeks ago my stake had Girls Camp and this year I was a YCL (youth camp leader). Jocee, Shaelyn, and I were over the 3rd years! We really wanted to come up with a cute way to decorate our cabin and since the scripture this year was "we seek after these things" we decided to be pirates, seeking after treasure! We went to the Dollar Store and scored on a bunch of pirate kits and cute decorations. I think the girls were pretty impressed.. ;) I really enjoyed Girls camp this year being a YCL, i got to go on stage with all the other YCL's and lead camp songs, we got to participate in a lot really special programs, and it was fun being the one in charge instead of being one of "the girls".

  Me, Shaelyn, and Lindsey were in charge of "The Most Embarrassing Moment" box! People would write funny things that happened to them while at camp and then that night when the whole stake would all gather at the lodge we got to choose and read the ones that we thought were the funniest! We got some really good ones and it was fun to read through all of the funny experiences people had!

  As always on the last night we told Mona! An old camp legend of a girl who died at Camp Lo Mia before it was used for church camps and how she still haunts the bridge... we scared some girls really bad!!! We had two of the YCL's dress up as Mona and after the story was told she popped out and the girls went ballistic!! as they ran the other way, the other Moan showed up, i'm pretty sure some of the girls were scarred for life! the best part was, it wasn't only the first years who were freaked out, a lot of them were the other girls who had heard the story and already experienced "seeing Mona".

 This year was also really spiritual and I loved all of the lessons that were given and i loved testimony meeting! I can always count on feeling the spirit when i go to Girls Camp and it always helps me grow spiritually.

Warm-up for Lake Powell

This past week-end, Ashley and David took me and a few of my friends to the lake on Davids family's boat. My cousin Jessi tagged along too, it was a great group and we had a blast!

Tube wars was brutal and even though we got bruised and sunburned it was totally worth it, I am all ready for Lake Powell now!

Afterwards, me, linds, and Shae went to subway and crashed on my couch and watched three movies... perfect way to relax after the lake :)

Cause this girl has her drivers license!! that's right, I took the test on a few weeks ago and passed!! i was soooo nervous, mostly because everyone said that the people were so mean but i actually got a really nice lady who tested me, plus all she made me do was drive around in a neighborhood and then go through a few intersections, piece of cake ;)

now... all I need is a car!
