TODAY I SMILED...
~ Tomorrow's breakfast, my free packet of Maple Brown Sugar Cream of Wheat, arrived in the mail! Thank you Bargainist.com!
~ Spoke to Aunt Jeannie on the phone and she told me she finally had the chance to see her new house, and she likes it! She'll be moving in with her daughter's family when she finally gets to leave Heartland.
~ A couple of the lady singers (Lacey Brown, Crystal Bowersox, and Didi Benami) have caught my attention on American Idol, and I'm rooting for them! I've yet to see any of the men sing because I work Wednesday nights. I did see Lee Dewyze a couple weeks back, and really liked him too.

Off With The Roof, Off With Their Heads, Off With The Rules
TODAY I SMILED...
~ Walking out of work at the end if the day and into beautiful weather. Val yells over to me "Melissa! Are you going to put your roof down?!"
~ Popping into the theater after work to watch Alice In Wonderland 3D at Fairlane, 5:00 show.
~ After a couple leaves the theater through the side door, a door that is not used to enter the building (unless you want to risk being caught and enter free), three young men run up and say "Hey! Leave that open!" They don't hold the door open, but it's open enough for it to be entered if they're fast enough, and they were indeed fast enough. I feel a bit ticked off they got away with this, but I know I'd try the same if I had the opportunity and felt daring enough.

Taking Tops Down, Mary Returns, Sweet and soothing
TODAY I SMILED...
~ Seeing a convertible drive down Telegraph with its roof down for the first time this season. 'Tis time to clean out my car so I can do the same!
~ Seeing Mary back in work today. She missed the entire week last week due to a sciatic nerve, poor girl.
~ Relaxing after work with a nice soothing shower and my daily ounce (Dr. Oz recommends this!) of dark cacao chocolate.

Great Equation, Mormimg Meow, Terrific Tom
TODAY I SMILED...
~ Nicer weather = furnace off during day = smaller heating bill!
~ Laying in bed half asleep I feel Smokie nestle down onto my back. He leaves after realizing I'm not ready for the day. About an hour later I call his name, he hears me, and comes down the hall chipperly meowing all the way.
~ A whole bunch of Tom Hanks films are on the tellie this week-end, and I love them all. He's most definitely one of my favorite actors of all-time!

Sleeping Room, Quick Decision, Hi-Grade
TODAY I SMILED...
~ As I lay on my newly obtained queen-sized bed this morning, Smokie jumps up to lie down too. There's ample room for a kitty to rest beside me, but he chooses his cozy place on the back of my legs.
~ I decide at the very very Very last minute not to go into work to put in some overtime, then called Sharice to let her know I won't be in after I said I would, and spent the time to visit dad and went for a bite to eat.
~ Eating dinner at Hi-Grade Steak House & Bar-B-Q, a restaurant that feels like a second home. It is just two blocks away from my house and I've benn going there since before grandma passed away in 1979. It use to have jukeboxes and she'd love to play "I Never Promised You A Rose Garden" by Lynn Anderson, "My Melody Of Love" by Bobby Vinton, and "My Life" by Billy Joel

Heart Touching, Free Lunch, Pretty Paper
TODAY I SMILED...
~ Finding a beautiful poem by Lisa Citore, "If You Want to Change the World"
~ Free lunch at work! The department next to ours had a huge spread at their potluck they decided to share with us
~ After complementing Carmelita on the pretty paper she is using, she hands me over a small stash. She tells me that our supervisor Sherice gave her the paper, about 150 pages, for Christmas, and that she'll "never use it all, here have some!" Sweet!

Snow Goes, Sacred Sage, Sweet Hello
TODAY I SMILED...
~ Seeing a nice patch of grass on my front lawn from which snow has melted and gone, a sign that spring is slowly crawling up and is right around the corner
~ Sandi told me about a new psychic/metaphysical store and health center, The Sacred Sage, which has opened in her mall, and I'm totally psyched to get over there to check it out
~ As I pass by LaRhonda's desk to pick some papers up at work she smiles, says hello, and follows it with "It's always nice to see you in my neck of the woods!"

Slick Nick, Cool Date, Wake Up Music
TODAY I SMILED...
~ Watching my nephew Nick play drums with his percussion ensemble at his high school's band concert, "Tat Dugga Du Kaa" was exceptionally good and they're playing it again at their festival performance this Friday.
~ Looking at the calendar and realizing that today is 3-2-10, a unique point in time!
~ Turning on the radio for my drive in to work and AC/DC's Back In Black starts up, pounding through the speakers, waking me up faster than a mug of mocha probably could
