While flicking through the latest issue of Elle Interiör (sneak peek here) I stumbled over the home of stylist Robyn Glaser. Intrigued by the seemingly effortless styling, I threw myself over to her website, and yes indeed, the simple and understated, yet elegant style continued in her portfolio. There were so many great pictures in there I had a hard time choosing, so here is a whole bunch for you!

Looking at Robyn's list of clients, it seems she has worked with just about all the big ones! Or what do you say about Anthropologie, Bergdorf Goodman, Nieman Marcus and Nordstroms, and magazines such as Blueprint, Cookie, Domino, Martha Stewart and Elle Decoration UK... This woman should have been doing rounds all over blogland, but I haven't seen her pictures before. Or maybe people have been posting about her and I've just missed it somehow?

By the way, the picture with the arm chairs and the books on the floor is from Robyn's apartment, it's the left picture in the third row. I wish i could show you more of her home, but I had no luck looking for pictures of it online.

When you see as much design and interior decoration news as I do (I browse the internet several hours every day, and read lots of magazines) it is very rarely that you find something that actually feels fresh and innovative. This credenza by designer Tina Roeder definitely does just that.

The Structures/Facades was inspired by the architectural history of East-West Berlin, "rich in visions and utopias". The materials used were grey cardboard and chrome-plated steel.

Having studied at both Saint Martins College in London and Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands, Tina has lots of other interesting projects that you can check out on her site, so please do!

I heard about H&M launching a home collection about a year ago, but then I forgot all about it, so I was totally surprised this morning when I looked in at Husmusen to find a great post with pictures of the whole collection! There are four different lines in the collection; Design, Nature, Youthful (with prints by Swedish illustrator Liselotte Watkins) and Classic. I'm showing you Nature and Design here. The home collection will be for sale at H&M:s webshop starting in February.

I think Nature (below) is my favorite style. The buttonlike cushions and the bottle silhouette print looks great!

Dutch company Krejci is more known for making cool bags from recycled inner tubes, old air beds and parashoots, but they also make these stylish cushions with graphic prints of power stations, vehicles and traffic lights. Finally some cushions that the male half of the population wouldn't be ashamed of throwing on their sofas!

Danish stylist Dorrit Elmquist is the woman behind the beautiful book Nordliv (photographed by Birgitta Wolfgang Drejer), and an expert on the light and airy Scandinavian style, often hired for photoshoots in Danish magazines such as BoligLiv, Bo Bedre and Bolig Magasinet. Here are a few examples from her portfolio:

I'm not a football fan of any kind, but I could totally see these drawings of football games on my walls! They don't look "footbally" at all, just really cool and graphic.

I just realised I haven't given you your Saturday Sweets for last week! So here you go, some yummy dining room eye candy to enjoy!

I know, this is way off topic for this blog, but since I mentioned this pie in a blog post last week, I've been getting so many requests for the recipe that I just had to post it! And the other recipe, the one for raspberry fudge pie is coming soon too...

So here it goes, the recipe for chocolate and lingonberry pie:

Pie crust:
100 g butter
1/2 dl sugar
2 dl rolled oats
1 1/2 dl flour

Filling:
1 1/2 dl cream
50 g butter
1 1/2 dl golden syrup
200 g dark chocolate, around 40% cocoa
1 1/2 dl lingonberries

Preheat the oven to 200°. Melt the butter. Add sugar, oats and flour. Mix into a dough. Put the dough in a pie form, about 24 cm in diameter. Bake the pie crust in the middle of the oven for 8 – 10 min until it has a nice colour.
Bring cream, butter and syrup to a boil. Let simmer on low heat for around 10 min. Remove the pot from the heat. Break the chocolate into little pieces and add to rest of the ingredients. Put it back on the turned off stove using the afterheat to let it melt totally, while stirring, until it's very smooth and shiny. Pour the chocolate sauce into the pie crust and sprinkle with lingonberries. Put in the fridge to set for at least 5 hours, or over night. Serve with softly whipped cream. This pie is very filling, so this will make 12-15 pieces.

More greatness from Sköna Hem! This time a newly built concrete house that is the home of a Swedish man and a Japanese woman, mixing the best of Scandinavian and Asian style. The two styles are actually very similar, in common they have the simple lines, the love of natural materials, neutral colours and practical solutions. Take extra note of the super smart kitchen and the way they use the steel clad cabinet doors to hold household items such as knives, spice jars, recipes and paper towels.

Remember last year when everyone all over blogland were totally crazy about spoons? They were all over the place, on flickr and on every design and photo blog i clicked to! Now there is this exhibition in Japan, by German artist Jurgen Lehl, and maybe this will set the craze off again... Just look at all those lovely spoons!

New and old, elaborately carved and simple, big and small, carved from wood, coconut, horn, shell and bamboo, made of iron, brass and gourd, hammered from silver, copper, bronze and stainless steel, salt spoons, tea spoons, ceremonial spoons, tea ceremony spoons, serving spoons, ladles, and jewelry made of spoons. Many were designed and made especially for this show, while others were found in Vietnam, China, Japan, Indonesia, Timor, the Philippines, Korea, India, Africa and Europe. The Exhibition will be shown at the Jurgen Lehl Babaguri store in Tokyo and will travel throughout Japan.

I've been offline for the last few days, because of some stupid mistake in the configuration of my mobile internet connection. But it's fixed now, thanks to a tech savvy friend! I've had this problem once before, and that time the store gave me a new computer instead of fixing the problem, so I'm glad it could be solved in a smoother way this time.

But now I'm back online and I've got lots of stuff I want to share with you! (Including the recipes some of you asked for.) However, I'll start with this kitchen from a brand new online lifestyle magazine called Coorda. The magazine focuses on interiors, beauty and fashion, always with a family friendly approach, so you'll find lots of kid stuff too in the mag.

I been tagged with the "7 random things" meme by Felicia from This Time in Seoul. So here it goes:

1. I'm in love with the city of Amsterdam. No, it's nothing like that weird lady who is married to the Berlin wall. It's more of a constant longing in my heart. I've never felt so at home anywhere as I do there.

2. Many people think my kids are named after seacreatures in Disney films. They are not.

3. I have a thing for men with a nice falsetto. Think David Bowie, Elton John, Prince, Juvelen. It's kind of embarrassing really, but I just can't help thinking it's totally hot.

4. I bake a mean "kladdkaka"! (It's like a Swedish version of brownies, but runnier in the middle) In fact, I'm a pretty good baker when it comes to anything sweet. You should try my raspberry fudge pie, or the dark chocolate and lingonberry pie...

5. Up until recently, I had the strangest haircut ever. A mix of a faux-hawk and a mullet. Sounds horrible right? I've never received so many compliments for my hair in my entire life. Strangers came up to me in the street, anyone from teenage emo kids to middle aged gay men and old ladies, just to tell me it looked cool. The ironic part is that I got that haircut to scare off guys. It didn't work. At all.

6. I like peanut butter with mostly everything. Last night I mixed a big dollop of pb with vanilla ice cream and my boyfriend informed me I was being gross. Perhaps so. But it tasted delicious!

7. I used to be a skateboarder when I was a kid. I would ride my board every day after school all through 4th to 6th grade, we even had a professional skateboarder there to teach us, but I never became any good. At all. The only prizes I won was for "Great Style" meaning I looked ridiculous as I always fell over in the ramps, waving my arms all over the place. But now I wish I'd never quit, as I see these super cool skater girls ride their longboards through the streets of Stockholm looking like a million bucks...

Also in this months Sköna Hem, this home in The Hague. The owner is a swede, which probably shines through in some of the design choices she made. There is no compromise in this home, it's functional, child friendly and practical at the same time as it's totally stylish! And very very white.

By the way, I'm sitting in a bar while writing this, and it's very hard to concentrate on my blogging as the guys at the next table are are engaged in a lively discussion about Scandinavian design. Right now they are having a verbal war on which design group is better, Swedish Front or Norwegian Norway Says... Oh, the discussion just started to circle around XBox vs Sony Playstation, and I suddenly got my focus back.

Don't miss this great article in Sköna Hem about the Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi. It's something I've been interested in for years, but I find it hard to find much information about the subject. The article is in Swedish, but the pictures are very inspirational too.
