This is a stunning masterpiece of filmmaking and unlike any film I have ever seen before. Cinematography is overwhelmingly beautiful and yet suspenseful as it puts you right in the scene as another soldier. Shot in a pov perspective and appears as almost one continual shot from start to finish.

Throughout Plein Soleil, Clément does a more than satisfactory job of directing. Tension and conflict builds, an unexpecting crime is being planned as well as the erratic manner in which it is executed. One feels as if something will probably go wrong, but it isn't obvious to what. This film as well as others that succeed it, aims to explore the psyche of the antagonist rather than just the crime. The acting is also quite good and the cinematography is very beautiful throughout.
