  This version seemed to have big ideas, but was afraid to use them. It wanted to be about Partition, about the after effects of the war, about Britain's changing demographics; but ended up being none of these.   If Chris Nolan did Dr Who... Enjoyable well above average blockbuster. Some clever ideas, but women characters poorly developed. Not my favourite Nolan.
