My first thought is that I'm very interested in what the Shia LaBeouf remake is like.
I had a very lukewarm reaction to the film. The parts where James Stewart spyed on the other neighbors, specifically Ms. Lonelyheart, and the whole 'peeping' nature of the cinematography were very interesting, the film as a whole failed to engage me. Though that may have been because I was expecting a big mind-blowing twist at the end a la Vertigo or Psycho.
Also James Stewart's character was a big jerk.
The montage that stands out best in Death Proof for this project is the car crash gorey leg sequence. The crash makes use of Eisensteinian techniques, especially amplification. In addition, the entire film takes a Breathless-y intentionally amateury editing approach.
Gotta preface this by pointing out that I super liked Eternal Sunshine, it feels like the perfect blend of Being John Malkovich, Scott Pilgrim, and Annie Hall and it's terrific.
Much like Annie Hall, Eternal Sunshine feels like a narrative about relationships and love, albeit with a more optimistic outlook, that there is no clear beginning, middle, and end, and that every end is also a beginning. In the opening sequence of Breathless, Godard "breaks the rules" by filming in a first person perspective. As Michel drives through the french countryside, the camera appears to be mounted on the dashboard creating several line of sight shots that give the illusion of first person.
