  Another one of those movies where I like its broad strokes more than the sum of it's parts.

  Such an excellent first half that doesn't necessarily fall off a cliff in the last quarter, but it gets damn close to teetering. The few "IKnowWritersWhoUseSubtextAndTheyreAllCowards.gif" moments/characters, and a few pacing issues aside - the things that are done well, are done soooo well. On top of it being incredibly funny, I want to see more of (nearly) every single character, ship, and environment in this universe.

  Anyway, I know it's not fair to say I expected more... but I did.

  Dev Patel says trans rights, then lefts, then another left, and a big right. 

  Neon revenge thriller with very good choreography, a bit of Bollywood, and some anti-fascisim thrown in? Sign me up 100 times out of 100.

  Any complaint I have is super minor, and borderline nitpicking. Little too much shaky-cam for my liking (even if it’s intentional, and due to issues during production), two or three too many flashbacks, and would have liked a liiiittle more character development from our main character, but I get it. 

  Thrilled for whatever Dev writes/directs next.
