The Substance 2024
Extremely stupid and shallow. Could have made a good sci fi channel skinemax movie if it was like an hour shorter, felt more like a bloated Black Mirror episode. Every point is belated and dragged out, it thinks the audience is stupid. The writing felt extremely student film. Any time a character talked it was driving in a point that was made 2 times already.
The practical effects were great, Dennis Quade was great and I loved the Terry Gilliam filter that turned on whenever he was on screen. There were lots of visual effects that were cool in isolation but used too inconsistently.
