For me, the epitome of a feel good movie. Ghostbusters was one of the few VHS movies we had, and we used to watch it up and down when I was very young. The jokes still work brilliantly today and atmospherically/visually it has nothing to hide. Venkman, Stantz, Spengler, ECTO-1 the title song.... To call the whole thing iconic would be an understatement.
All that coolness wouldn't fit in a twinky, that's for sure.

Over the top AF. typical Troma productions, either you can get into it or don't. Clear satire and message to the fast food business with musical dance interludes and jokes that no longer work today (they were already problematic back then)
The practical effects are very good for the time and obviously low budget and are still a lot of fun today. You just have to get involved with Troma, otherwise these films don't work

Yesterday I was allowed to rewatch the movie on the big screen. Doesn't make it a new movie, but everything is much more impressive. The effects and the drama on a giant screen, the booming score and the sound effects surrounding you, simply awesome. If you have the chance to see the movie in the cinema then treat yourself as a genre fan!

Well, what should I think of this movie?
It's kind of crazy how it leaves you hopeless and empty. Especially how it plays with the audience and involves them in a sick way. Unnecessary lengths that sometimes throw you off. The extreme opposite of a feel good movie. I think this is one of those movies I never have to watch again (unless i want to instantly feel bad)
Unfortunately not my cup of tea.
