it's very surreal to see posts about palestine dwindling down after the ceasefire. israel is still blocking aid to and trying to make life difficult for palestinians in gaza. we still have to continue to speak up about gaza.
in this ceasefire, many palestinians are trying to rebuild in attempts to try and return to what they had before the genocide. despite the heavy and unbearable loss of life that gaza has experienced, her people continue to try to make a better world for their children.
alaa is a mother of two young children. she wants to rebuild her house and get a better future for her children. please have heart and consider helping her out. her fundraiser has been verified.

this Archivist isn't Jon - it is voiced by a woman. thus, what if this was her(?) poking fun at how Jon wasn't able to come to power like this?
or better yet, what if this was some far-off human remnant in her, lashing out at the fact that she was alone unlike Jon, therefore she couldn't stop it? she had to become this thing, this Archive, this entity that thrives from suffering all because she didn't have anyone who could stab her instead of herself.
the statement giver expressed how difficult it is to properly stab yourself without needing to repeat. we know Jon wouldn't have physically been able to do it to himself because of the Eye stopping him (whether it be by immediately healing or physically restricting him, we don't know), and we know that Martin was the only chance they had at redeeming the world after Jon took the place of Jonah. she also expressed basically how she wanted to give plants life because she took a life. we all know how much guilt Jon had about the Eyepocalypse and how much of the blame was put on his shoulders. he wanted to right it as much as he could, and Martin wasn't gonna let him do it alone.
so... what if she was just like Jon, had her own Archivist struggles - kidnapping, burning, worms, strangers - but the only difference is she didn't have a Martin of her own?

I generally agree with that post going around about how you should let kids fuck around and find out with physical play but it carries this weighty implication that if you don’t develop kinesthetics at an early age you’ll never develop them at all, which is a very discouraging way to talk about the real possibilities of adult life
I went from being a clumsy kid totally convinced that sports were a thing other people did to one of the most gracile people in any room because I picked up martial arts at 24 and never stopped. Ive learned judo from an eighty year old. The systemic issues stopping children in parkless car-centric dumpster suburbs from developing a relationship with their body also affect adults, but even as you recognize this, for the love of god please don’t believe that growing up means you *must* inevitably recrudesce into your worst habits
I've said it before: Your talents are not established in your teens and locked in for life. Just because something was difficult for you as a kid doesn't mean it will be difficult for you as an adult.
As you grow, you gain new skills even without doing any relevant practice, among them patience and the ability to keep trying through failures, both essential to mastering difficult things. As an adult you also have more agency to choose a form of learning that fits you and to refuse teachers that patronize you.
I wanted to learn sewing as a young teen and absolutely sucked. I tried it again as an adult and thrived. Because I had chill instructional youtube videos instead of the constant observation of parents, I had real motivation knowing all the super queer outfits I wanted to make, and I had real self esteem, which made it might easier to undo another bad seam and try again, and again, and again.
Hi everyone, making an new post because there's been an update to the situation! The police at the camp Abdul is staying in have been called about him because he can't pay back $430 in medical debt. I can only help with about $200 every 2 weeks because of how I'm paid, and this has been an issue for at least a few weeks now. He's really been distressed about this debt, and it's a big drain on top of trying to purchase enough food to eat. we'd appreciate literally any amount!

so essentially there’s this cool horse drawn into the hills in england made out of chalk and it’s like 3,000 years old.
people carved trenches 3,000 years ago and filled them with chalk in the shape of a horse but what’s interesting is that if you fail to maintain the horse by adding new chalk regularly, it will disappear. for 3,000 years, we’ve been filling in chalk in this horse so it doesn’t disappear.
we’ll never know what the purpose of the horse was originally. we’ll never know if it had ritual or spiritual significance or if it was just art. but we do know that people maintained it then, and, even though the meaning of the horse has long been lost to time, we continue to maintain it now.
the people who made this horse are long dead, but they live through us still, don’t you think?

I’m a year round competitive swimmer. And when I say competitive I mean like 5 2 hour long practices a week that reach over 6,000 yards and waking up at 5:30 in the morning before school for strength training twice a week :)
