my little brother tried to show me a "cool trick" where he entered my name and hometown into chatgpt and tried to get it to pull up my personal info like it did on all of his friends, then was absolutely shocked when it couldn't find anything on me
so. keep practicing basic internet safety, guys. it still works. don't put your personal info on social media, keep all your accounts on private, turn off ai scraping on every site that you can, enable all privacy features on social media apps. our info still can be protected, we have to keep fighting for control

For my name it was a nickname I was giving back in middleschool! One of our teacher had a system where we worked with 'wifi' eachtime we talked in class we lost a bar of the "wifi" (was a weird joke and we never held count on that) All the kids usually joked if they needed 'wifi' , they would borrow mine if they wanted to talk more. (I was incredibly shy in middle school, I only talked to like 3 people at school;^;)
They called me Ms. Wifi because of that. I just thought it would be funny if I put 'miss' instead of 'ms' because of my terrible actual wifi connection I have at home lol.

I don't remember when I started, but at some point I just started to refer to myself as kit when online (mostly for the anonymity of it. That and the fact childhood me liked the name kit) Sometimes I would use kit kat too, and I like KitKat bars (candy) so that's where that part is from. The last kat is supposed to actually mean cat (my favorite animal) but I wanted to spell it with a k so I did! @everythingimnot @swtchblvds
I wanna do way too many things (all of them lol) which is impossible so I'm named for the things I'm not so that I can be everything ✨

Oooo so my name is really short in real life, so my friends and family had to get kinda creative with nicknames, and my aunt once called me peeps (I’m not sure if it was because it starts with P and my real name starts with P or if it was because of the candy lol) and it just kinda stuck. Now everyone calls me peeps. I usually have to use peepers or something similar online though because peeps is always taken (T＿T)

Rat is actually my chosen name, like, it's what I use to refer to myself in general! I use it irl too, even if not many people I know use it, most are still stuck on a older name lol. I always change the other word tho, I'm not always "rotting", sometime I'm "very fat rat", "radioactive rat", "stinky rat", "rat soup" etc. I get creative lol.
But if you want to know the beginning of it all? Well, okay, I'll admit it. I started to use Rat due to Penelope Scott's song Rät. It's a good song, idc about the senseless hate she gets.

I've been using this name for.......... so damn long. it's probably old enough to legally drink. I had looked up a japanese translator (yes hi hello I was a little bit of a weeb) and wanted something with "ash" in it. juukai comes up meaning "dense ash" and I was like "well if that doesn't fit I don't know what does, I'm dense af". used it ever since. there's another guy out there using juukai, what's hilarious is our real names are almost exactly alike and he has the same origin story, I just usually get to websites first so he has to add a number to his username lmao.

Back in the 00's, I went home from an assembly about internet safety. I said 'oh man, i can't use my real name, what if someone finds my house!!' So my 12 year old brain thought really hard.
I also used to be really into touhou. One of those cringe 'she was abused has 30 powers yadda yadda' touhou oc's was named Rose Scarlet! So in what I thought was a genius maneuver, tacked on ful at the end. Its been my url on everything ever since.
Tempest though is because I joined a card game event and realized rose is way too boring. So i was tempest for that tournament. Never changed it back. Now im tempest xD.

Back when I was around 18, I listened to a LOT of lofi hip-hop and dreamed of making my own music! So I came up with some cool names that sounded like lofi artists and set them aside for the day I might use one.

My current name, Kaijunaut, came after having the same online handle for like,,,a decade, and I really wanted something that felt more *me*, I guess? So I mashed up two things I really like: Kaiju (godzilla my beloved <3) and astronaut (space <3)! Though a friend of a friend thought the 'naut' was for 'juggernaut', like a really beefy kaiju/x-men reference -- which is also kinda cool and I regret not being the one to come up w/ that >:\

i was an edgy bastard at age Small so i stole the name of a very minor character from eragon and then. spelled it wrong. spelled it better, actually. (despite this it has been recognized three times, which is. fucking wild.) and i've been using it everywhere for 13 years.

Actually this is my third major nickname in the internet I think after KGaming and iStalker, this one was the name of my alt I sometimes used instead of Stalker (which I took from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game series during my postapo phase) but after some major shit and changes in my life I moved away from those accounts and adopted Skulduggery, which comes from the Derek Landy book series titled Skulduggery Pleasant who is an epic fucking skeleton magician and I remember the first book fondly (only read that one), so after jumping around between Stalker and Skulduggery I stuck with this one cause it's the closest to who I wanna be seen as on the internet (epic fucking skeleton)

Since Citizen Robespierre left the des Piques he ignores me completely and my petitions! I make worthy arguments, which he will not hear! And he makes no time for my theatre productions! It saddens me greatly!

Thinking about... how at the start of act ii, when you come to Brother Piero's grave, Brother Guy will say something about how maybe it would've been better if you'd kept out of it and let Piero be killed, since he didn't have that long left and was old, anyway. And he really did have me going like... God. Yeah. if I'd kept my nose out of it, Lucky (or Matilda or Ottilia) wouldn't have died. I didn't even really think any of them did it by the time I was reporting my findings. It's not fair. Piero would've forgiven us for failing to save him. After all, he's an old man. He knew he wasn't long for this world. And maybe if he had gone down for the murder, Andreas could've at least been there for him in his final moments.
But then again: in act i, one of the very first things you can affect in the game is the question of whether or not to help the Gertners pay their taxes. What happens if you fail?
The family is okay, they still live on their farm in act ii. The only thing that changes is whether or not Ill Peter survives.
He's an old man. A grandfather to two grown-up grandkids. He's crotchety and cranky. If you talk to him on the first morning of Act I, he doesn't remember your name even though you've been living with his family. He's literally called Ill Peter.
And yet saving him is one of the very first positive impacts you can have on Tassing. A change which ripples for 25 years, because if you choose to help the Gertners and save him, he's still around when Magda's turn to investigate comes around, one of the few town elders who remember the Old Ways. He's survived to see Jorg become a council member, to see both Jorg and Eva marry and have children who are nearly grown in act iii, to see even little Ursula grow up from a toddler to a woman, to get married and have a baby of her own. And yeah, he's still cranky. He's still ill! He's positively ancient. But his life has value, regardless.
Anyway. Just. Damn: this game.
