They/it/he Almost 40 I'm mostly all ages but anything spicy I will tag "#blogging for grownups". Any kind of discourse or upsetting current events stuff is tagged "#not positivity".

Since I've been getting so many asks about it, OpenDyslexic is a browser extension available on firefox (and likely other browsers but you should be using firefox). It makes nearly all the text on every website into the Open Dyslexic font, which many people with dyslexia find easier to read.

My posts that have escaped containment:

kinda funny when online discourse can be refuted with ‘I was literally there’

Kinda funny when the term has been used since the ‘70s, over thirty years before this author claims to have decided it.

this is in the context of confirming the name of the overall genre at a specific event (and why it’s most commonly known as yuri), she talks about the historical context as well:

to clarify the last sentence, the ‘japanese researchers are unlikely to know this’ is because she’s talking about things happening in english fandom spaces rather than japanese fandom spaces.

A cyanometer is a device used to measure the intensity of blue in the sky, often used in meteorology and atmospheric studies. It typically consists of a series of blue color patches or a color gradient, allowing the user to compare the sky’s color to these reference colors.

Do you like the wheel of the sky

Well I like that it doesn't take 5 minutes to scroll past.

fat character who becomes a vampire and loses a ton of weight and blood can not sate their hunger but they can't eat anything they used to like anymore. everyone views it as a positive healthy positive development but they're starving and dying slowly but never truly dying, a living corpse. this is a metaphor for something

People finally think they’re attractive and cool and funny but they’re dead. People finally treat them well but they’re dead. Do you see the vision

Transforms into a shell of my former self and finally gains the respectability society never bestowed upon me before

As much debate as there is about tone tags, 90% of the issues would be solved by just typing the word. Like instead of typing /gen or /hj you can just write (genuine) or (handjob) and you'll be doing pretty much the exact same thing.

Of course I personally think it's less awkward to use some rudimentary language skills to form actual sentences and phrases. They don't even have to be complicated. Like "Genuine question, why are you doing that?" Or "I'm being serious. Stop that." Or "I'm going to jerk you off now."

I whole wholeheartedly agree with you on this matter OP. I do feel like it's often forgotten in this discourse that tonetags originated on Twitter where they had to get around a constrictive character count for tweets. I think how we got here makes a lot more sense when you consider the process otherwise of trying to fit an entire handjob in 280 characters.

what? /s to denote sarcasm was in use in the 90s. it's based off html.

we need more pathetic female characters written by authors who don't hate women

to be clear since this is making the rounds: she has to be an absolute loser in no way that can be pinned on her gender. no "i'm just a girl tee-hee" stuff. straight up just a loser (nondenominational)

addendum: she must be the most important person in the whole narrative

I decided to sit down and concentrate and properly write the list of rules that qualify a character for this role.

  • FIRST LAW: This character must be a woman.
  • SECOND LAW: This character must be a loser, but not in a way that can be pinned on her gender. Misogynistic response from the audience does disqualify the character.
  • THIRD LAW: If the audience does not enjoy this character, then it becomes impossible to enjoy the show/film/book/game altogether. It is not possible to ignore this character, for better or for worse.
  • FOURTH LAW: The character must make bad decisions, and not just be a victim of poor circumstances outside of her control. The character can also be a victim of poor circumstances outside of her control, but it has to be primarily her personal choices that deem her a loser.
