米国で人気の多機能ガジェット「Chumby」が日本でも近々発売される。ジークスが代理店となり、発売時期は2〜3カ月以内、価格は2万円台を予定しているという。 Chumbyを開発しているのは米国Chumby Industries。ベッドサイドに置いて目覚まし時計として利用するほか、無線LAN通信でインターネットラジオを聴いたり、YouTubeの動画を見たり、Flickrの写真を表示したりできるなど、非常に多機能な情報端末だ。 さらに、free Chumby Networkというプラットフォーム上で600以上ものウィジェットが無料で公開されているという。まだ日本語で利用できるものはないが、主要なものは今後ジークスが開発していく予定だという。
