So many strong performances. Idk how to describe the dialogue but it gave me kiss kiss bang bang vibes and sure enough had annie and I giggling in our seats. 🙊
Interesting enough premise, and even cooler sets. I was engrossed the whole time. The run time wasn’t a problem but the ending didn’t quite hit for me.
Once again, Paul W S Anderson demonstrates his mastery in cinematography. Using various shades of brown, he’s shown that he can film an entire movie using ‘the volume’.
And as usual, casts his wife Mila Jovovich as the lead. It wasn’t until now that I realised she looks eerily similar to Taylor Swift, breaking the few crumbs of immersion that the movie had earned.
You would’ve hoped for better from a George R R Martin short story, but I guess this is what 2 years of post production does to a mf [movie].

Timelines were suitable spliced up (no Dunkirk effect Patty C) and most characters felt realistic.. especially the vicpol Senior Sergeant.
I just didn’t care much for the missing person or her back story, and would’ve preferred this touch a little more on Covac. Maybe a missed opportunity with Falk’s storyline, Falk’s true motivation and its tie-in to the main plot.

Nothing that hasn’t already been done - maybe akin to Rocketman, or Bohemian. A man wants to be famous, does some coke and luckily comes out on the other side somewhat unscathed (not you Freddy).
