To the surprise of no one, who's familiar with the quarterly slaughter of a sacrificial movie on the altar that is social media (I guess with the Oscars behind us, the masses finally moved on from Emilia Pérez), this wasn't actually half bad.

Let's start by saying that I absolutely love historical dramas & period pieces.
They're my favourite kind of TV show.
So naturally I was very excited for this. Especially looking at the cast & the focus on a queer storyline (Mary, a social climbing schemer, pimping her son George out to the gay King, to rise through the ranks) .
Which is why it saddens me to say, that it was...just okay.
